Impressive progress in this update! Your solutions to configuration/location/mounting/hardware problems are always clever and creative- I’m taking notes on some of them. Yours is a unique and special project; thank you for sharing it with us 😎🎩♠️💙

Nice work. You seem torn on decisions, methods and materials. "In case everything being dark isn't enough information". Lol You are funny as well. Keep up the nice work. Can't wait to hear that radial fire up for the first time.

Thank you for posting. I liked the Oratex bits especially, because I am building a Pietenpol and the Oratex is sitting on the shelf. The radial on a Kitfox seems strange. Both great products, but it seems as a lack of compatibility with my now ex wife. Nonetheless. Enjoy.

One thing on the panel I would suggest is add a couple empty holes and just put nice plugs in them for later add on things that will come later!

What size and what for ? For example

switch hole for add on later. I am using one of them right now. Run about 4 extra #20 wire for who know what later. Its hard to add wires later after everything is finished and put in place.@@jeremykemp3782

No idea how one goes about procuring space shuttle switch guards that sure is an interesting touch ♠️

ebay item 175369909821 or you can get Apollo switch guards, item 175197080927 I put both in my CAD model and decided on the Space Shuttle type.

Great progress. All those small bits and pieces seem to take a long time, but well worth it in the end. I can't wait to see and hear that beautiful radial fire up for the first time. Do you have any plans on eventually adding a constant speed prop? I ask this because of the tundra tires.
@vernerradialkitfox4083 Жыл бұрын
I have to see how the weight and CG come out. A constant speed puts quite a bit of weight forward while also making my wallet lighter. I've got two props to try before I consider a constant speed (The Sensenich and a Meglin 3 blade carbon prop from Ukraine)

this is a pricey build.. it looks spectacular. how much do you pay to have those trays made (cut, bent)? subbed to follow this build!

I think my build will actually be cheaper than most others. I was going to say $60k all up but it may be creeping up towards $65-70k. The various clad aluminum mounts are made from scrap aluminum. My instrument panels from SendCutSend were under $150 for two of them. The bracket for my throttle and mixture cables was (if I recall) $44 delivered to my door with black anodize. My avionics were cheaper than steam gauges, my gear isn't what all the cool kids are buying, and my kit came with the Oratex covering materials. My kit also came with two of pretty much everything, so I have made up some of my original investment by selling off the extra parts.
