How would you describe henna damage? Does these oils help other hair types? For example wavy hair that has fine course strands and low porosity

Hii!! I just discovered you, because i was finding information about fenugreek seed, I wondered why you never tryed it wash your hair with Aritha or Shikakai, those are natural saponaries herbs , they clean so well the hair as a shampoo. I use it with Amla to add soft and creamy to the mix. After 2 months now, my hair is so thick , shine and soft after I chamge my regular sampoo fot those. Why dis you decide to leave ayurvedic hair care?

I also am stopping the Ayurveda and curlygirl methods and going back to my simpler metjod of pre-pooing, shampooing, deep conditioning, acv rinses for clarifying, rice water rinses, or protein treatments occasionally and using better quality styling products!! Also sealing my ends with oil!!❤️

Hii, I'm glad you're back! Try the Mielle pomegranate and honey leave in! I swear by it, also the kinky curly curling custard (gel) and Camille Rose Curl Maker(gel), both have the same consistency as flaxseed gel and work wonderfully (also smell good). Plus, both of those custards will give you a long lasting wash n go (especially the kinky curly curling custard)

High porosity hair drys quickly and frizzes. Low porosity drys slower 5 to Six hours. Your follicles seem fine . Meaning the width does not seem thick.

I stopped oiling the night before washing. I couldn't see a difference. FF to a few months ago. I started doing it again and used sunflower seed oil cos that's what's in the kitchen. I started using it a few months ago but not to prepoo. Then I thought let's try it again. BOY, what a difference. It wasn't the prepoo oiling that was the problem, it was using the wrong oil for my hair. I dilute sulphate shampoo and put it on my dry hair and work it through and then add water. have also gone back to silicone. But not all the time. I think we all need a change of washday routine ever so often

This is a nice and affordable routine. Happy growing in 2025.🎉 I'm sure it will work out well. Are you using brushes or combs? I noticed that when people finger detangle exclusively, most end up with tangling issues. I use the panthene volume shampoo on my youngest daughter's hair. She has a high cell turnover rate, and it cleans her scalp very well. We wash our hair twice a week.
@VyalaBloom17 күн бұрын
Yes, I use a wide tooth comb while conditioning and then a wet brush during styling. Though I’ll mainly finger detangle while oiling my hair.

My hair skin also has changed over the years! Every decade i have to relearn my skin and my hair. And what i eat automatically changes too. I remember when I went from my 20s to my 30s... my extremely oily face that I had to blot all day became extremely dry to the point of peeling... I went from using mattifying Astringent products to ultra rich Moisturizing products for very dry skin. The stuff I use now would have made me break out as a teen and in my 20s. Now if I don't use them... the dryness is so bad... that that breaks me out. I'm going through another change cause I'm leaving my 30s to go into my 40s and wow... I have to change my hair products... I used a lot oils and somehow now it's giving me itchy scalp and dandruff. It's wild how my body changes as a woman. Every decade. But I've decided to embrace it and let my body tell me what it needs.

Ya know when I saw the title my gut said "Oh God" but after careful consideration I think I'll follow you 😅💕 I've been hard core natural for 12+ years, followed all the "rules" and have 2 six foot cabinets dedicated to Ayurveda. Yeah, I'm a full blown junkie 😂 In all that time I have never loved or even enjoyed my hair and only recently has it finally reached Bra Strap length 😒 and it's still thin 😔 2025 is the perfect time to try something new because clearly Ayurveda is not working for me. Thank you for this lightbulb moment 💡 I look forward to following you on this journey ❤

Y ou are mixing up low and high porosity. 🤔High porosity hair dries quickly. Low porosity takes longer to dry. Your problem was probably product build up Whatever products you were using were leaving buildup. Pantene and cheaper mainstream hair shampoos like VO5 clarify. Its that simple. You needed to clarify
@claudettewatkins423723 күн бұрын
I love abby young and also shampoo an conditioners really dont do that type of damage. Sometimes Ayurveda practices over time an not keeping up with them can cause hair weathering or mechanical damage which can create higher porosity hair. Your heat damaged hair may not even have been damaged completley from heat it could have just been since your hair was alreasy damaged it just added to it. Im glad you found an easy hair routine that works
@VyalaBloom22 күн бұрын
This is along the lines of what I’m thinking as well, definitely a combination of many things at once. The heat definitely did not help though haha

What many people don't realise is that even Ayurvedic haircare should be done moderately. Not everyday and day after day. Masks, hair oils, serums and rinses shouldn't ever be overdone. Twice a week is plenty. I've been doing herbal haircare for years and no damage whatsoever. Although i admit, herbs are addictive :)

You have protein overload. Try balencing clarifiers and your fenugreek with bentonite clay...strait, mo other products. It will clean the hair and remove some of that overload

I think the Ayurvedic haircare made your hair a lower porosity not higher porosity (which is why people do it because their hair is extremely dry). But this can happen with products like lamellar water, bond builders, keratin treatments, protein treatments, silicones, etc. High porosity hair dries quicker. It accepts moisture easily but loses it just as fast bc the cuticles in the hair strand are open. I'd say how you were describing your hair before you started Ayurvedic haircare was pure medium porosity which is ideal. If you don't like your hair on the lower end of the porosity scale, you still need to be careful with today's hair products bc they are STRONG & permanent. I used Redken Acidic Bonding Pre-shampoo treatment to make my hair ph more acidic which closes the cuticle & makes it less porous. My hair is how you described with Ayurvedic haircare, however I can't really change it. This is good bc my hair ends are permanently fixed, but I've stopped using the product. With Ayurvedic haircare & things like chebe powder they are temporary & more likely to be product building up on the hair over time vs actually repairing the hair strands like modern haircare & bond building treatments do. So that's why I never tried it because I was looking for something more permanent & reparative.
