They are all really good but my favorites are embracing the joy of missing out and using the 20 second rule. This was so helpful! It’s my first time watching.

I have a progressive form of MS. It’s been quite the journey the past 30 years…good days, hard days, loss of function, ways to accept the need to shift. I am so grateful that I am as healthy as I am because everyone has something that they deal with and so many have a much more difficult path this is simply mine. I have a wonderful husband who walks with me, and a life that makes me smile and feel joyful and loved everyday. Is it perfect…probably not but it doesn’t need to be. Thank you for sharing…have a joyful holiday! 🥰

Having a clean and joyful mindset is so important when going through something like what you are facing! I have major respect for that! And, so happy to hear that you have an amazing, supportive husband by your side! Merry Christmas! ❤️

AMEN AND AMEN! My roadblock has been shapeshifting to be like others, feel accepted, and fit in to “a fantasy version” of myself. One of the greatest blessings of becoming ill, leaving my beloved job, and going on disability has required me to prioritize and change due to my body’s needs. What freedom and revelation of who God has created me to be, who my friends really are, etc. Having becoming a minimalist has only enhanced the joys and ease of my life. Thank you for who you are ! Merry, blessed Christmas to you all 🥰💝🙏🏻

It is so freeing to truly recognize who we were created to be…and throw out that ‘invisible audience’ for the audience of ONE! Merry Christmas and many blessings in the new year! ❤️

I’ve recently embraced JOMO and think I discredit myself. Being content with the stage I’m in. I find myself wanting and I think that there is a seed of discontentment in my heart that needs dealt with.

It’s great that you recognize these things! That’s the first step! Of course, as sinful humans we will have these thoughts creep in. The idea is that WHEN they do - we can shoo them away quickly! ❤️

Oddly enough, making the decision as a family not to buy each other gifts for Christmas was a great source of JOMO and I'm not sure if it would've happened without your influence! We're definitely living in the moment and enjoying our time together rather than just 'getting through' this holiday season. We had so much fun going skating together and having a delicious brunch afterward and there are several extended family gatherings to come that don't involve gift exchanges... just good company and good food. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Yup - it's about who you become on the way :) "Let's just get through this" - something used so often, and something we can so easily let go of by reframing it to let's truly get into it, enjoy it, relish it! The other one that really stayed with me is - Embracing FoMo - instead of focussing on letting go of FoMo, may be just shift it to JoMo! Thank you!

My big struggle right now is the war between my inner Paul Bunyan (low tech) and my inner modern person (higher tech). I was asking myself why tech problems pretty much enrage me just like far more serious things would. Why do I want to now take an axe to this laptop and find myself cussing at it like a sailor? Or wanting to go to the Apple store and go off on someone like Karen on steroids. Lol. It’s prob going back to what everything else does I guess. Messed up childhood. Messed up parents. Idk. There are times I feel like how high tech we have to be to get along these days is rather like a helicopter parent who “wants to keep us safe.” But what do they really want eh? To keep bleeding our wallets for the next tech thing since as soon as we get a thing, it’s obsolete and won’t work now. And high security like it’s Ft Knox you’re trying to get into. On the other hand I might be a bit like a kid who is just very angry Bcuz I don’t know how to use the new thing and it’s always new things. You can’t just use a thing for years anymore and that really irks me. And you can’t even get into some device hardly either. If you vary your passwords, you can’t remember them. If you don’t you might get hacked. Or as some might think….Fascist like control over tech which is rather like controlling your life. And then the thing about if we pay IT people good money, why then do we have to go get some unofficial IT degree ourselves just to use our own personal tech? And I wonder why I need 10 levels of security just to play a computer game or read memes or look at my own photos….So idk. I’m just having a moment. Lol. But anyways. Decided to just go watch a bit of Sam Kinison (the screaming comedian). It was very cathartic. 😂😂 I prefer low low tech or no tech at times (whenever possible) but aaarrrggfhhh!! This world won’t let me!!!! Lol. Tech is like anything such as live and let live. But it’s really hard to live in this world at all if you don’t have some kind of tech savvy. Apparently I’m super lacking in this area and yet I really don’t want to have to learn that much about it. I only do when a situation forces me into it. Idk if this makes me backwards or not, but as with all the modern ideas about other things that are wrong too. Such as isn’t this supposed to relieve stress.? Make my life easier? But all I’m finding in it is that it’s a giant, frustrating stress ball until you can make any new tech actually be of service to you. And then when you get there they say oh nope. You have to get the new thing now. Or God forbid there’s a glitch or something not working right. It’s a full on pull your hair out nightmare and your work or flow stops until someone fixes it. I have to at least question….what are we doing here eh? So in some ways it’s prob just grin and bear it for me. (Even tho I prob won’t be grinning. More like rolling my eyes and being snarky the whole time lol). Although I feel like I have a pretty good case for calling out how high tech is running our lives more than it should be allowed to.

Ha ha! I hear you on the low tech / high tech thoughts! There are times I want to just build an off grid little cabin in the woods, and just enjoy life without technology - but then I remember that it would be a lot of work to have to build fires, dig wells, use candles for lighting, etc! I think my husband and I have also reached the age where technology seems foreign. And my hubby is a big tech guy! Even he gets confused now! ❤️

@@ArrowHillCottage Lol. IKR. I guess like with anything else. Stay on the road and avoid winding up in the ditches on either side. I DO love it when it really helps me out. But when it is bad it is oh so bad. I also think those are kind of our wake up moments. We get fed up. And maybe we should get fed up Bcuz that’s like an itch that needs to be scratched. On the way to better (tech among other things) is so often a time of abject hair pulling angst. 😅😅 It’s funny tho. My roommate has a really modern laptop that she hardly uses. She’s letting me borrow it and I really like it. You can do touch screen on it as well. But truly it has got me thinking. I’m getting rid of those bcuz they chap my butt too much (idk about the IPad. It’s more complicated but def that laptop I’m trading in. Maybe for a super simple tablet. Lol. And most def idk what happened to me. I wonder how I used to do all that stuff. I was the fam go to person for that and I remember even overcoming really hard things like problems with installing and reinstalling Quickbooks or Turbo tax Pro etc. Importing and exporting from Excel and so on, having to download printer drivers online etc. Lots of things. Ha ha. Maybe it is age idk. Lol. Now I just get overwhelmed and cranky. Lol. I guess I’m doing ok tho since the only tech I’ve ever literally ripped on purpose was ages ago. It was some lousy cheap speakers that always let me down and gave me grief. I pulled them apart and cussed them out and slammed them in the trash. And I can say I have zero regrets about that. But I reckon it would be rather foolish now, esp if I can at least get $50 or $100 out of that stupid laptop. 😅😅 And yah. This all started with me delving into the ancestry stuff and finding that I need a whole new “home office” to do this the way I want to do it. 😅😅 How old all my tech is that can’t handle it. Lol. I want to get a folder and print things off and write things about the journey etc. Trying to control my obsessions and patiently wait for my dna package and then wait some more to be tested. Def I have issues with obsessiveness at times. Like going full hog or sprinting out the gate or binging on things. This is one of them. It is utterly fascinating to me. Parts of my fam tree I have already to the 1500s but I also don’t yet know how accurate I really am tho. Lol. I might be related by marriage to a former “court jester.” 😂😂 Like I’m terrible. I want to keep my IPhone 7+ Bcuz it still works and the only thing it won’t do right is that dang ancestry tree. Lol. And whatever I do I just wanna use my phone only. Lol. My first cell was like 2003. I kept it until the 5 button broke off and then I was still “making it work” for longer than most people ever would. Idk if that’s a good thing or a bad thing tho. Lol. Wherever I came from tho, there’s def a lot of “Paul Bunyan” inside of me in some areas. Lol. And well since I really know very little about my bio father’s entire side. I just want to go see what I can discover about that among other things. I love it Bcuz it’s like detective work or investigative reporting lol. I’m curious to a fault. Lol. Lately “on the trail” of one of my long lost great grandfathers. Lol. I think also it will be a good outlet for how much I love writing. Ha ha. Maybe give some other folks a break for awhile with all of my intense, thorough musings. 😅😅
