A while ago in Undertale I was wondering if monsters even knew what a human dying or a dead human would look like - nobody would have witnessed it except Asgore, Gerson (was in the war iirc) and Toriel, maybe. Now I'm wondering, does even Asgore know in Deltarune? We don't know if there was a human-monster conflict at all in Deltarune, or if Kris is the first human the town has ever met. Gerson might have known but he's gone. Do people just assume shambling Kris is just normal for a human? Also interesting that part of the librarby that contains a book on humans is restricted...

Here’s a thought: If it is to be believed that Gaster shattered himself across time and space, then who’s to say that Gaster himself- or rather, the fragmented particulates that remain of him, aren’t what’s causing the cellphone interference? He could be in a similar state of being as the background radiation that appears as TV static and white noise IRL, but in Deltarune’s universe since it’s implied that he literally *created* the universe. Going off of this theory, I could infer that Gaster IS the darkness. He is present in every area of the game that casts a shadow. This lends some credence to the egg man behind the tree and the Goners from UT mentioning that “it’s rude to talk about someone who is listening”, in reference to Gaster. Both of these events take place in areas encompassed in large backdrops of darkness.

I love how all the cool and interesting debates going on in the comments have little to nothing to do with the video. (I don't mean hate to the video btw, just found it funny).

Chara was buried where Frisk lands at the start of UT. Not only is Frisk exposed to Chara's essence, but Chara also identifies themselves to Frisk as the embodiment of gamer pragmatism/apathy. You, the player, can only get the Genocide route if you go out of your way to clear out the Underground, something you can only do if you detach yourself from the game world (gamer pragmatism/apathy) which awakens Chara's essence since you're doing what they would be doing.

I didn’t watch the whole thing, so you probably already mentioned this but- If Kris is dead, maybe that’s how we controlled them in the first place.

It could be that Kris was one of the starving humans that the monsters trapped and the scientist created a soul from the determination of the people as a beacon.

I wonder if gaster is trying to bring the roaring so that he can reform. If the whole world's made of darkness, the parts of him that were shattered might be able to come back to him.

After watching this video to the end the best interpretation that I can personally come up with is that although Sans is from the Deltarune world, he either "bleeds" because of having ketchup in either his body or clothing, or because Deltarune monsters really do have blood. I didn't use to believe in the theory of Sans coming from Deltarune because of the fact that he can use magic attacks in a not Dark World setting but after the Papyrus & Sans Q&A I feel like the "green grass" thing is currently VERY hard to explain in the case that it's not true that Sans is from the Deltarune universe. Again this is just the best interpretation that I personally could come up with so I'd like to hear others' interpretations too. This is like solving a Papyrus puzzle, lol

I also think this could be the same with Frisk. Frisk's is a child that fell (maybe did it on purpose because they wanted to die) into the underground and got possessed by the player, WE were determined not frisk. They probably died but still was determined (from us) not to die and that why we have so much control over frisk's and why they never fights back; what's a almost dead human child going to do to the whole reason they're even still alive (this is amusing that frisk, after undertale pacifist run, takes our soul for themselves and lives). short version: frisk was NEVER determined WE WERE

Overall this theory's pretty plausible. However, I'm not sure how I feel about the idea that the player is the one possessing them. Two out of the three examples of Kris removing the soul from their body has small implications that this has been happening long before the player started Deltarune - mainly Toriel claiming that Kris "does this" sometimes and the carpet stains near the wheels of the wagon. Neither of these are full-proof, but it's just enough to cause some doubt imo.

To me this room was purely made for testing. The wingdings were probably a test for different fonts, especially Gaster’s, and the sprite just toby quickly made in MS Paint as a placeholder. The ghost-like effect when you approach Redacted is probably meant to test the script for napstablook’s same effect.

A very interesting theory! I think Kris being possessed by The Player and thus acting strange is pretty much canon, but that they had died is ne to me! I was gonna say "if they are dead how can they still react and have a conscious?" But like you stated, there are characters in Undertale that are dead/soulless and can still react, talk, etc. Very, very interesting theory and video! Guys im the only one that knows how sans dies, (i think) sans dosent BLEED real blood, and bones cant have blood, he is a monster, he has ketchup inside his jacket, it breaks while getting hit and his bones break for pain! And now if he was a human he falls, if he was a monster he dusts.

And Sock Muppet had a theory that Gaster wrote the correct-grammar-and-capitalisation entries, and Alphys wrote the others, because Alphys types in lowercase and the correct-grammar-and-capitilisation seem to take place in a time waaay back when Gaster might have been alive. And according to this, Gaster's experiments DID work. He returned the monsters to their families. But Alphys wasn't so patient with her experiments, and injected copious amounts of determination, causing the monsters to merge into amalgamate abominations. Edit: And so, sans could have known the right amount of determination to use due to the sans-Gaster-left-brain theory.

There is a theory that Gaster coined the term De-termination instead of Alphys, and so that would make sense that sans would know the term, due to him possibly being the fractured left brain of Gaster after he shattered.

Next do the one where he's in a coma :p
