Could this be whats gling in with my truck? I can see smoke coming from the engine passenger side. Fills up the cab and smell like a mix or something burning but not like exhaust
@MasterJacks
@MasterJacks Күн бұрын
@@Dusty696969 It's very likely. It drips oil right onto the passenger side exhaust manifold. The air intake for the cab is right there too so you'll definitely smell it. It's more common than the valve cover gasket, but that's something else that could cause the same symptoms.

Do we need to use gasket sealant for the seals and blue threadlocks for the bolts?

I’m at 200K miles and not sure it’s ever been changed. Should I do a half drain and half fill? I heard a flush by this time can be catastrophic

Dumb question I’m sure, but I’m new to this. This transfer case fluid change is the same as transmission fluid change correct?
@MasterJacks
@MasterJacks 2 күн бұрын
@@GonzoD505 on a four-wheel drive vehicle, the vehicle has both a transmission and transfer case and they are serviced separately. The transmission on this vehicle takes Ultra Low Viscosity automatic transmission fluid (ULV ATF). The transfer case uses DEXRON VI automatic transmission fluid.

He didn’t mention there is a hole in the bottom of the tensioner to stick a bolt through to hold tension while you replace the belt so you’re not fighting the wrench trying to put the new one on.

@MasterJacks
@MasterJacks 9 күн бұрын
@@johnmcalisterjr3913 I would think so. I believe the spacers account for nearly if not all the rub for this tire size. I'm guessing you won't get any rub, but if you do it will be very minimal/less invasive to correct.

Missed clearing the vent on top of diff. Wiggle and spin the cap every opportunity like oil changes etc to prevent the vent from clogging because they are very prone to clogging. When they clog fluid will get pushed out of the seals and it is difficult to unclog because of the tight location. Seals often get changed and immediately start leaking again because the vent is clogged.
