Great video, I too watched your other videos as well. Short, straight to the point with all the needed details, contains no bs promotions, ads and crap to sift through. Well done! I would pay for content like this.

Thank you for the front and rear diff fluid change video. Funny, I have a GM front diff, and AAM rear diff.

So strange that they mixed it up with our trucks lol. I have AAM front and rear. Wish there was a drain plug on both like my 04 Z71 has.

@@sectech221 I have sold my 2020 Trail Boss. I recently purchased a new 2024 Chevy 2500 ZR2 with the 6.6 gasser. Absolutely love the truck. Like my Trail Boss on Steroids... lol

Is there a reason why you didn't remove the cover?

Great video! How about making a 21+ tahoe/Yukon rear diff fluid change? There is no video on KZbin for it. Thanks

I have a GM front and a GM rear differential. It looks like they both use the same fluid in that case. Is that correct?
@jamesmitchell4718 Жыл бұрын
Great video, thanks. I also watched your videos on the rear and the transfer case. I don't have a fluid vacuum, any reason I couldn't just pull the cover and replace the gasket like you did with the others?
@MasterJacks Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yeah, if you have the space to get the cover off and get the new gasket in there, that'll definitely work.

Hey brother awsome video! Would you happen to know what the torque specs for the bolts are, not the fill plugs but the actual bolts? And are they the same for both differentials?
@MasterJacks27 күн бұрын
@@xquisiteforyou the SU4 front diff calls for 18 ft lbs +30 degrees on the final pass. The SU5 calls for 30ft lbs. I'd say you're probably good with 30 ft lbs on either front diff

If you did remove the front differential cover what are the bolts torque setting? I know the fill bolt is 24ft lbs but not sure of cover bolt torque or sequence

@MasterJacks would you happen to have the Torque specs for the bolts and plug? i have the GM Corporate SU5 RPO code axle

Front diff cover bolts (x10) are 30 ft lbs ea, and the fill plug is also 30 ft lbs

If someone did remove the front differential cover, what would the gasket part # be? I find part # 84428297 when searching online, but I don’t know if that is for the AAM or GM differential.

I don’t have the fluid extractor, is there a drain plug or do I have to take off the whole cover?
@joootooobboosheet24862 ай бұрын
You'll need to remove the cover plate. Make sure you have a new gasket, just in case the old one can't be used.

dumb question but why can't you just take the diff cover off to drain the oil, just like your video on the rear diff service? Instead of buying that pump.

@@shakenbake11 you can, there's limited space but you can use the same method as the rear diff

@@MasterJacksthank you. One more- my local store didn’t have 75w-85. Can I use 75w-90? Seems more available. Thoughts? Or should I just go to Chevy And buy oil there at the parts store? That way they give me exact right stuff based on VIN.

Why can’t you just back out the cover screws and let the fluid drain out. This way you don’t need to remove the cover.
