I quit gacha gambling a long time ago. I punted like 20k over the course of like 3 years on it and quitting felt so good that i look at gacha like a plague. Everybody should have the same mindset as current me. Gambling sucks, work hard instead.

The logic of thinking the parents are the asshole in the first one is kinda flawed. The logic is "I had a crappy childhood bc my parents were not ready so I expect them to not improve and be the same parents." The person telling the story is also a bit biased 😆 At that age my parents were the devil in my eyes.... In hindsight they are the only reason I'm not a complete mess.

First time I went to Vegas when I turned 21 I played blackjack. I was going in with the mindset that I was just playing for the fun of the game and expecting to lose any money I brought to Vegas. In the first 10 mins at the table 25$ turned into 115$ and I immediately started having a panic attack. I didn’t come back for the rest of the night because my brain freaked out so much over having won money and being nervous it was going to hack my brain. Luckily… I lost 600 bucks overall

The directors from the mlment they knew i was taking them out for the night in Germany, kept bringing up going to a casino. So after taking them to a brewery for dinner. The lab people went back to the hotel. And i went with the directors to a nice casino i know of. I swear to god, one of them had spent twice my salary at least!!! (Awesome for me, i got so much free alcohol, a second dinner, and depression from the waste).

I would only disagree.. in that 1. Whales do exist, and they are not millionaires, they are ramping up credit card debt in many cases. 2. Thier is a opportunity cost from overcoming... which people are loosing out on life from over gaming - but that's less money lost, and more socio-economic and socio-psycho activities decline.

I have gambled before, but I have never once felt any shred of joy from it. I hate it and always felt like I’m going to lose money even though I’m probably barely negative across my lifetime. I think there’s something wrong with my brain that I don’t get pleasure from the risk

It's not about the risk - it's about gambling in general just being stupid. I mean, take any casino game, remove money from it - and no one in the right mind would ever play them. I enjoy taking risks, but not when it's just a dumb risk with no point to it.

@godlyvex554317 сағат бұрын
I think a good few of the drugs you think of as horrible are not that bad and have nice benefits, while gambling is just completely horrible, manipulative, and is way more common than drug abuse. To be clear, there are plenty of addictive and life ruining drugs, but many of the non-addictive ones are pretty benign and safe in moderation. Alcohol is probably the drug most comparable to gambling in widespread use and harm over time.
