I had lapband surgery years ago and am going for bypass this year. With the gas problem I noticed I'd get shoulder tip pain in my left shoulder, so I'd angle myself so my left shoulder was highest. The gas would pool their, then I'd move so my left shoulder was below my neck. The gas would then 'rise up' and I'd burp it out.

I'm 19 months post op and I've gone back to not being able to eat much. 1 slice of French toast is too much right now. Not sure why...

I’m 19.5 years out from RNY. I can totally relate to the same snack making me sick one day and not the next with the same “dose” of sugar/carbs/volume. it’s so weird. I ate 7 chicken nuggets the other day plus fries and didn’t feel anything not even gurgles. I don’t recommend anyone do this, I didn’t realize how many I had gotten down until I did and it’s dangerous. It was nuts. Few days later I couldn’t get one down. It’s a wild ride huh.

My coworker is always excusing herself from her work due to having dumping symptoms episodes…she should be on medical leave for life. She’s spends her working hours on a sofa while the rest of us have to pick up the slack! Yes…it’s a topic for the medical community out these patients in a medical leave for a long time.

I am 31 years post op from RNY and had no clue about reactive hypoglycemia until about 2009. About 2 years ago i had a real scare when my hubby let the dogs out in the middle of the night. I sleep deeply as it is, but i woke up in a fog and just felt awful. Cold sweats, shaking, and disoriented. I couldn't even reach for my glucometer, so hubby heard my faint yelling and came to help. (We have separate bedrooms due to sleep schedules that vary in our golden years.) My blood sugar was at 20 (I am in the USA) and had to go into emergency mode. If the dogs hadn't awakened me...I feared I might have died in my sleep. I asked my doctor for a wearable glucose monitor, and after my tearful account of my fears, he prescribed Dexcom. Now the alarm awakens me when my BS is dropping dangerously low and I can take action. I am trying to adjust the alarms for levels that are too high, but the accuracy of Dexcom 7 leaves much to be desired. I am on a long wait list to see an endocrinologist so i can get some medically sound guidance. I live in a "medical desert", and getting specialists and general practitioners is hard. I guess the summers scare people away. Temps regularly hit 120° and more.

I'm 4 days out from a SAD-I surgery, and I really appreciate this video and where you're at. I can RELATE. I'm 54, and have been focused on diet, food, body for 40 years. This has been a rough 4 days. Going to use tge tool, and work to get healthy. But I then want to somewhat "let it go." It's exhausting....all of "this." Bless you for sharing everything you have. Nice to know where my eating will/can go. And that a new normal won't be hell. Lots of thoughts...at this stage. But just wanted to thank you for being vulnerable on many topics. 🙏 I needed it....and you/your validation on the same journey, helped.

I don't know if I actually have dumping episodes. I have only gotten sick 2x, and when I feel like I overeat, I start coughing. When that happens, I need to walk around and let it digest. Although, yesterday, the family ate pizza. I had 2 slices (over 2 hours) and I had heartburn later. That was interesting. It tasted good which was surprising. After my surgery, I stopped liking the taste of pizza, bread, tortillas, tomatoes, tomato-based foods, etc. What I enjoy now are brothy soups and it's been 5 months since my surgery.

I wanted to thank you for your videos. I am a year and seven months postop from vsg. I found your videos during my research phase preop. Our starting weight was very similar and I found your matter-of-fact approach so helpful and reassuring. I wish you the best and will keep an eye out for any future updates, regardless of whether they come sporadically.

I understand. I had gastric bypass 11 years ago. It was one of my very best decisions. I lost 100 pounds quickly and kept it off for several years. Eventually, I gained back about 20 pounds so I had to take stock and realize that I was off track. I decided to use the Healthi app (similar to WW) to track what I ate ... including calories and macros. After several months, that extra 20 pounds was gone and I was back to the weight I want to maintain. I also switched to a plant-based diet which lets me eat what I want without the need to track ... and still maintain my weight. As a bonus, eating plant-based also reduced my cholesterol so that I no longer needed to take a statin drug. Hurray!

You have been my favourite gastric bypass "youtuber" precisely because of your amazingly clear way you convey information. I am SO SORRY you don't feel beautiful or gorgeous because of course you are, and your honesty and vulnerability have elevated your attractiveness. But I also understand that feeling. I wish you all the happiness and success in the world.

I love your videos and found them while I was recoving from my bypass surgery in March 2023. I appreciate you sharing your journey and 💯 understand wanting to just "move on" and live your life- I get it! I have also gotten sick of always being "the girl who lost a ton of weight." I just want to be me. Also gorgeous wedding pictures ❤😊

Have you considered glp1s? I see a lot of people that have had wls finding further success with them so i was wondering what your thoughts were on possibility taking them. 🤔

I have considered it. I think there are a lot of tools available now that can give us the help we have so desperately needed, and it's an option on the table for me. I have a few personal reasons why I haven't talked to my doctor about it yet, including that I worry about it being a bandaid and what would happen for me personally when coming off the medication.
