Because they know his way of thinking now. They know when he likes to hide or what he is capable of doing. It's like psychological profile or something. When your friend likes to hide in the same spot in hide and seek in real life and you already predict their hiding spot. I remember one time they said that he may be somewhere and someone responded "that early!?" and the other person replied back "it's fire, he could be doing this". Because they know what he is capable of. Still, he actually wasn't there at that time, but I remember they take into consideration something he could do. Also when he got certain items, they know what other items/possibilities are left. Like he has to go through False Knight at some point. Sooner or later. But I know what you mean. It was fun to watch. There was enough them predicting his movements but also him bamboozling them totally.

This group of hunters is one of the best I've seen on the channel. Shelby knows how Fire reacts under pressure and was constantly on his tail giving him no time to think. Hardcore is a strategist who kept the callouts coming and the teamwork strong. Hope is the wildcard, it felt like they could pop up anywhere to unexpectedly throw a wrench into Fire's plans. Hunthussle has massive intimidation factor, it's clear that he's put in the work to hone his skills across many kinds of gameplay Hollow Knight has to offer. Most importantly, everyone in this video sounded like they had fun playing together.

Hunt vs Fire is always very fun to watch, but adding Hope and Shelby tracking Fire like bloodhounds and Hardcore just appearing in front of him on the screen makes it so much better. I love these HvS where you actually have to fight tooth and nail just to stay ahead of them, it shows your insane speed runner techs and makes them look just as impressive, instead of you zipping through and them flopping around like dead fish. The start is always SO rough because the runner just doesn't have many locations to work with. Same problem when going for the last dreamer. What if the runner could start with one secret upgrade? The hunters could try to reason out which check isn't needed. It could be a dreamer or claw or dash or VS, etc. If this sounds too powerful, note that it's very easy to buff hunters by providing them just a little information, like an early lifeline.

Also, what if the runner could choose another upgrade to swap to another location? Hunters don't know which upgrade or which location, but there's a limited list of possible locations, like it has to be behind a boss. Maybe the hunters could even get a short list of bosses where one of them had this bonus item.

I still think the one thing that could be improved about these runs is the fact that once fire gets the dreamers the hunters can just sit confidently at black egg temple, and it kinda means that the endgame for each run ends up the same. I kinda wish there were some other goals he could accomplish to make the Hunters have to worry about what he might be doing aside from the dreamers, but so far every time something like that has come up (ahem nailmaster’s glory) it always ends up banned in the next hunt because of the fact it works so well. I hope that at some point they expand the limits of what items he can get again instead of just always narrowing it, but I guess we’ll have to see.

About Rusted Moss. Never played it, but you got me with "you can break these sequences if you're clever enough". That's what I've been doing in Ori and the Blind Forest. I was going to the places I were "not" supposed to be. Not by bugs. But just because I knew how to do it in terms of using skills *legitimately* to do something that you normally wouldn't. Also either you have to mention this game somewhere else or I've got it from other place, but I have it already wishlisted. New rules are intriguing. And cool that there is a new mod for auto Hunter upgrades. It sounds like something impossible to implement, yet someone made it! Good job, Korz/ExtremelyD1! "He is at False Knight! He is about to start the fight". I love how you bamboozled them by being noticed when you went up after already finishing the fight. IMO the platforms in Greenpath for the Hunters are unfair advantage. You have to still use the soul, but they don't. You got the easy Mantis Claw, lol. Usually it's one of the most guarded items in the game. You bamboozled them again going to City through Blue Lake, haha. "I am Hardcore and I speak for the shelbies" lmao The way two of them died at the same time at the end of (your) THK fight was amusing.

Honestly I got into Hollow knight because of my friend who recommended it to me, but with out you I wouldn’t probably enjoy the game as I do. Watching your videos is incredible, and I love it but the only thing that bothers me is the fact that people complain about the runner, because he is to “op” while the hunters have the advantage almost the whole game. Except the late game when runner gets nail upgrades or descending dark but that’s fair getting the late build while 3-4 people are chasing you and blocking you is difficult even for most pros at the game. While it's nice to see another Speedrunner vs Hunters video, I feel the amount of restrictions in place now for Fire and the bonuses for the Hunters is making all the recent videos like this feel very "samey". I kinda miss the jukes and unusual plays from the older videos

Yeah. It's just constant chasing and combat and a lot less nice sneaks and jukes. I am definitely finding I like the older videos a lot better than the latest Hunters vs Speedrunner. Before we'd get cool plays and jukes. Now they just tend to know his every move because of the restrictions on him and the buffs on them.

Great plays by the hunters! They had amazing calls the whole run. Really liked the no stag rule, and the limits to the upgrades. I liked those limitations because it made it harder for Fire to run away/have a different goal to do a quick pivot to when surrounded.

The amount of bonuses the hunters have now is ridiculous. There are 3 of them plus all of the notifications of every purchase, dreamer, and upgrade. Most of the best charms are banned and they have all of the lifelines. I enjoyed the older videos when Fire was able to sneak around and get all of the upgrades while dodging them the whole time, but now it is just non stop combat and chasing.

I have always played with similar upgrade/ability restrictions. They just weren't written into the rules. Under the old rules, the optimal play is immediately collecting every mask shard, vessel fragment, every broken PvP charm, every charm notch, spell, and nail art. Hunters would stand no chance of ever tracking me to these upgrades because there would be 20+ places on the map I could go to at any given time. I didn't do that and still don't, the only difference is that now there are formal rules (which are still being improved upon) to prevent it. Anyway, if you want games where hunters camp at objectives for an hour or longer while idly speculating where I could be, because there's no way for them to know since they're virtually not even playing the game, the old games still exist. Those games were fun to watch, but they honestly weren't super enjoyable to play.

I always feel like the hunters underestimate fire. Hes gonna outmaneuver you, he’s probably gonna beat you 1v1, and he has a lot of Player v Hunters experience. In this video however the teamwork and communication was really spot on! Future hunters should take notes
