Agreed! I don’t think “protective stylings” are protective AT ALL!!! it breaks the hair. I believe if you want a TRUE protective style. Get locs and call it a day and take care of your locs.

Protective Styling is a defensive term. People started using it so that they wouldn’t have to defend their choices for wearing their hair their way after giving up relaxers. The early natural community would drag anyone who dared give up relaxers and wear a style that wasn’t a fro or a wash go. It was super annoying to deal with them, but now the term has evolved as a means to cover ANY personal hair choice, damn near. Let’s just get bk to minding our own business when it comes to ppl’s hairstyle choices.

As a BM I use TPH hair products I use her twist cream & her shampoo & conditioner. I also have face length hair & take care of my body from the inside out. I learned from my mother lots of black women hair want grow because of genetics, medication, birth-control anti depressants to name a few. I also have very coarse hair with a natural curl pattern.1 thing that bothers me about BW is how lots of y’all can have the same jealousy towards each other together 4ever. Everything is not meant for everyone. Also if you lack iron or anemia you’re gonna have hair growth issues.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👑

I get the caramel macchiato too. But I sub the vanilla syrup with caramel because when I found out it was only the sauce that was caramel, I was confused.
