GREAT JOB , ALWAYS FIX YOUR TRANSOM FROM THE INSIDE, NEVER REPAIR YOUR TRANSOM FROM THE OUTSIDE 👍👍

I’m on this phase in my restore . I like how you interlock the stringers towards the bow instead of installing them side by side . Thank you as I continue to be educated. Keep up the great work .

Great videos! I have been waiting for and watching all of them in this series. I am rebuilding my own 1990 18ft sea pro cc full teardown and rebuild. These have been extremely helpful. Thanks again.

Make the rigging tubes sweep less aggressively will make pushing wires easier. Like posted earlier use heat gun easily bends

Good job. The outer skins create most of the stiffness with the Coosa helping. The 1708 layer in between the two Coosa board layers could have probably been skipped. Also a toothed trowel to apply that thickened inner epoxy would have made a uniform glue thickness. But these do not affect the outcome much. The half round oscillating blade you used was a good choice on the cutaway job. So many old fiberglass boats could be restored by cutting out the rotted wood members buried in old polyester resin, and replaced with Coosa in glass and epoxy resin like you did. Gave it a thumbs up!

Perhaps using a catching pan for the oil dripping back into that soil can save this dying planet… good content

Great video! I noticed on the next video that the stringers you fabricated seem to be deeper in height than the originals? Is that the case and if so, why did you do that? Thanks

Pretty work so Far dude. I’m in the beginning stages of my project rebuild. I have an older console now Ability to flush mount MFD etc. made a mold but thinking about just copying your idea with the coosa in a different area.

Great job thanks for sharing. My boat has the same damage on the keel it looks like it’s from the trailer rollers do you recommend replacing rolllers or adding bunks?
@colbyserio2166Ай бұрын
love the vid, but it kills me watching you cut with a flap disc. slap a regular 1/8" cutting disc on there and save yourself a ton of time and itch!!

bro why is that all your fiberglass is always left with air pockets and dry spots? your suppose to saturate the fiberglass with resin if not it delaminates.

Bought a 60 year old Aristocraft several months ago (first boat) and didnt even think to look at the keel. Back 1/3-1/2 of the keel looks like yours did. Been looking for a video on how to repair similar damage. So glad i found this. Unfortunately notni have to wait until spring to actually do the work but definitely saving the video. Do you have links to the products you used? I'd really appreciate it if you do.do you have a video on how to do the gel coat ? Thank you and great video.

Small bit of advice. If you’re using epoxy resin 1708 is not ideal because the CSM layer is soaking up alot of your epoxy and making it very difficult for you to wet out the glass. Get some 1700 glass instead that doesn’t have the CSM layer and it’ll be significantly easier to wet out the glass. FGCI carries 1700. Epoxy has a much higher chemical bonding strength so the CSM binder layer isn’t required also the CSM is going to soak up about 30% more resin than is necessary making the lamination resin rich and more brittle. 1708 was designed for use with poly resins. 👍🏼
