The long sistered joists used along side the hatch that seem to go end to end. How did you get them up into the loft
@DaveDoesUK5 ай бұрын
Measured and then pre cut to length on the ground. Then it took two people to pass them through an upstairs window and then we wiggled them through the loft hatch opening. Not easy but got the job done.
@monumia-kj1eb5 ай бұрын
Do you mean cut to length to the load bearing wall then another sistered joist bolted together at the overhang from load bearing wall to external wall,
@DaveDoesUK5 ай бұрын
@@monumia-kj1eb Not sure exactly what you mean. The long sistered joist goes from the load bearing external wall to the load bearing internal wall.
@monumia-kj1eb5 ай бұрын
Ahh ok. In the video you say “it runs to the central supporting wall and then all the way to the eave” Im assuming it’s cut to the central support wall and then another piece that runs to the eaves In the video it sounds like you got one long piece running from eave to to eave. Which would nearly 7m long. There’s no way I’m getting that up into my loft🙈
@DaveDoesUK5 ай бұрын
@@monumia-kj1eb Yeah, I'm end of terrace too, so have 3 eaves. The lengths are approx. 3.5m from the eave to the load bearing wall.

I accidentally sprayed oven cleaner on my soft granite countertop. Is there any way to repair that??
@Djeldra-he1se8 ай бұрын

The connections to the nest link at 4:10 ... is there any voltage across that connection? Or is it simply powering the boiler up when the thermostat calls for heat and makes a connection across those two wires? (So just shorting them would mean the boiler would fire continuously??)
@Nickolas63000 Жыл бұрын
Doing it ok but hot water setup at 45 but viessmann is going higher than this value so for hot water it doesn't work

The manual also says that the jumper labelled D in the wiring diagrams has to be removed. Didn't saw this step in your video, did you remove it anyway?
@jlangham851111 ай бұрын
This wire/link/jumper had already been removed when the boiler was installed. But yes, you need to remove the jumper cable linking 1 and L. If you didn't remove this wire/link/jumper, the boiler would constantly run the heating.

My thermostat safety button is underneath the tap, as opposed to on top as I've just discovered they all seem to be. Maybe installed incorrectly causing this problem?

@@anthonybrown7959 I only insulated between the ceiling joist and the loft flooring. Not practical to do between the roof rafters on mine as the tiles are old and there's no modern breather membrane sheet unneath them. I'm usuing the space for storage too, so not essential to keep it insulated, plus don't want to create a moisture trap.

for the opentherm setup, is the 75c the radiator flow temperature? If so, is that the max and does it vary based on weather and/or load - so will lower flow temperature as the radiators approach the target temperature?
@DaveDoesUK2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is all correct. You may be able to set it slightly lower, depends on the energy efficiency of your home and how quickly you want your radiators to heat up.

I did something like this myself with a cheap Chinese turn table off ebay, I got the turn table and replaced its stepper controller with one that can be manipulated by a raspberry pi 2040pico, So i could control the speed/rotation steps etc , I also wired the pico into the shutter on my digital camera so it rotated the table and told the camera to take the shots meaning i could do really low iso pictures and avoid motion blurr 🙂 , Mine was for Photogrammetry based scanning but the idea could work with yours too.

Alternatively, you can soak a cleaning rag in distilled vinegar, and leave it setting on the affected area for 20 minutes. This method also works for cleaning faucets (just wrap & secure with a rubber band).

There's a lot of recommendation against this as vinegar is an acid.
