I NEVER subscribe to anything on KZbin but I just had to give you a shout out for posting this. After five years of trying everything to fix my dull granite you gave me the answer that took me five minutes! And it does not scratch the granite at all. Thanks so much for taking the time to post this!

I scape my countertops on a regular basis , not for limescale though,to get the stuff that gets stuck in the pores of the granite I also use one of those no scratch scrubby sponges when I wipe it down don't ever get cheap granite countertops

The non-abrasive pad sounds like a good idea to keep it maintained. Is there such a thing as cheap granite?

I accidentally sprayed oven cleaner on my soft granite countertop. Is there any way to repair that??
@dresden50602 жыл бұрын
or just use a razor blade is fine too, I cannot stress enough do not use any harsh chemicals or de scaler this will corrode your polish and damage the stone. you can also use wire wool and there are some fantastic granite polishing pastes

My granite soaks water it always leaves water stains if you don't wipe immediately after splashing water and it is not very shiny

Clean and seal them

Alternatively, you can soak a cleaning rag in distilled vinegar, and leave it setting on the affected area for 20 minutes. This method also works for cleaning faucets (just wrap & secure with a rubber band).

There's a lot of recommendation against this as vinegar is an acid.

After a few years of the scraping, the countertop is gonna be about 1/4 inch thick. Lol. Just kidding. I'm definitely gonna try this.

You're just taking off the layer of limescale buildup, not digging into the granite itself.

How about scratching? Is it safe?
@DaveDoesUK3 жыл бұрын
Doesn't scratch, as long as you keep the blade flat like in the video.

Why not vinegar or Lime Away?
@wendywelling-dw5sn21 күн бұрын
The acid will remove the sealer, and you will need to have it sealed again. Granite is porous.
