I really like the dimarzio pickups. Best sound ever, anyway in my opinion. Love your videos man.

Great work touring the guitar shops around Tokyo. Love the advice and commentary, but your filming and editing sucks - slow down, you can’t really take anything in as you’re panning too fast! Sort it out for the next round 😂

My god, that sound is amazing. Total Shoegaze, Cocteau Twins, Robin Guthrie vibe. Love it. I’m sold. Thanks for doing this dive.

A Fender jazz body and neck with and PJ pickups is my perfect bass, but I can't stand the hard edge on the Aerodynes.

The audio interface is a great shout, just to get some newbie guitarists to mess around with playing their guitar into their PC/Mac, or like myself, into an iPad Pro. 👍

Not probably the best way to highlight the jc amps; a piece of retro gear thats overpriced does not contribute to how good the jc 120 for example is. You can get a just-as-good chorus pedal for or under a hundred bucks. So therefore the jc:s ce-1 topography feature is more like "a hundred dollars worth of efx in ur amp" if we are being reasonable. There is lots and lots and lots of great sounding gear out there, you dont need the most iconic pieces to be reaching those lush, beautiful, rich and coloured sounds

My pick is a metronome!! I have a Wittner Taktell, I love it! I can’t believe how under appreciated the poor little 😢 metronome is, it can make you so much better, it’s fun! A lot of bang ❗️ for your buck 🎄

It’s a stunt. Guitars are so overpriced. How can anybody afford them in today’s economy? We asked something if they closed all the toilet paper factories and these clowns got a hold of toilet paper. How much would they charge for a roll?😊

Great suggestions. The Boss pedals are something you can’t go wrong with. Also some capos, Fret Wraps/Wedges, Gear bags from D’addario, nice new pedal board, etc. The Roadie 3 Tuner is a personal fave of mine (it goes on sale for holidays and should end up around $100), which I use daily for tuning, practice, and at my workbench for restrings. It does so many things and works standalone so the app isn’t required.

Or different strings the person never tried. Sometimes we are scared to waste money when we already like something, but it’s fun to get to try some different options from the same brand or a new brand. I’d love to get a gift with new types of strings. Just ask the person for their preferred string gauge and whether they tend to like coated or uncoated.

I had a friend who switched between a Marshall JCM 800 and a Roland Jazz Chorus for his cleans. It was a cool set-up for the early 90’s. I just use a Boss Super Chorus and have it dialed it pretty sweet.

I sold off all my electric guitars and basses about a year ago. Metallica didn't call, and neither did Maiden, so I finally gave up. I only waited 54 years, but the wife convinced me that we needed the money so..... On the guitar side of things, I got rid of my B.C. Rich Bich 10 string, my Jackson Kelly, Washburn V and a few others. I decided to keep one of my basses just in case I got a hair up my ass and wanted to play. I wanted to keep the best one, and sold off the others. I sold the Ibanez, the Fender and the Jackson. I kept the ESP LTD (Gen 1) Tom Araya 4 string. Believe it or not, that $500 bass played better than anything else I had (and some of them were well over $1000 way back when I purchased them). Plus, it looked way cooler than anything else I had...except maybe the 10-string Bich. Point is, some companies make "budget" guitars and basses that play better than you would expect, and they have more features with better fit and finish than most of us will ever need. That's definitely the case with ESP's LTDs. I also played, and was really surprised with what Yamaha and Schecter are calling their low to mid range guitars. You can definitely find what you want, for the price you want, as long as you show some patience and do a little shopping.
