I have one that got his foot cut and he was full drama queen about it at points. It was so bad he would do something cry about it and lift his foot up. You would tell him it's the wrong foot. He would quickly put it down and pick the other up.

Adrianna, your a good soul. I started out with an Italian Greyhound maybe 20 years ago my girlfriend got a Maltese because she was allergic to some dogs. My Tommie passed several years ago, so has Gracie, "the Maltese", Now we have whippets. My beloved Leah passed suddenly at 6 y/0 and our breeder gave us another female whippet which we have now. Perfect in every way 6 y/o. Last year we got a white male whippet from the same breeder. He is now a year old and we love him dearly too. Big and strong, my female petite. He wants to dominate everything and super strong . We are working to calm him and set some boundaries, which can be hard with whippets. Whippet lovers are just that ....we love them. Whatever happened to you, expressing your love for whippets will cure. Blessings

Oh my. They are so amazing. The amusement and laughter they bring into your life. How do they react if you burst out laughing at something they are doing? By the way, the music was absolutely perfect for these clips. As usual.👏🫶

Rudy peeled his own boiled egg until he saw me peel mine. He then became the biggest drama queen I’ve ever seen. He’d nudge me and the egg over and over and over again until I’d peel it for him. Thank you for this. So reminds me of my Rudy Angel lol😂❤

I confirm whippets are good with any animals! Mine loved to take naps with my bun and she hated everyone but me and my dog lol (she also hated all our other dogs from other breeds)

I got a Whippet from the pound 10 years ago. Very energetic and smartest dog I’ve ever had. The separation anxiety is huge though. Even with another dog in house. If I am in another room or garage she can’t stand it and goes crazy. If I leave the house fully she gets ok after 10-20 mins or so checking the camera.

I found your video because I am considering getting a whippet. I am retired, have all the required fences around my house, and am very drawn to whippets. Ideally I would like to provide a home for an older dog. Thank you for providing so much useful information.

I had a what I thought was a jack Russell terrier mix adopt me almost 6 years ago- she showed up terrified of the fireworks on 4th of July. I took her in over the weekend and felt sure she had been terribly abused before her arrival due to her anxiety levels. I made it my duty to rehabilitate her, certain that with the love of my chaotic family, she would regain confidence and finally get to be 'dog'. Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2024. Someone mentioned they were absolutely certain she's a whippet- mixed, obviously, but a whippet none the less. Piques, and always down to do research, I understood within 5 minutes why she hadn't really recovered after 5 years. I removed her over Christmas 2024 to a single woman with the biggest heart and kindest soul, a personal friend who had also been contemplating seriously about adopting a dog. They are a have been a perfect match. My Jack a Whip was never going to 'recover', she's designed that way. My lifestyle is high energy, and I recognized she deserved better. Had I known what she really is, I'd have rehomed her immediately. The constant worry I have about her stress and possible long-term depression from rehoming her is real. My guilt is endless. I know she's in the right kind of environment for her breed now. Thank you for reassuring my decision!

I so appreciate your content and how informative you are. I love the way you can show what you talking about with your own adorable pack. We have always been a dog owned family and have wanted to welcome a whippet into our home for many years, but because of our work schedules and other dogs we have had, we knew it wouldn't be fair to a whippet. We have an older dog and a greyhound rescue who we got when he was 5. He's 9 now and has taught us a lot about sight hounds in general but he came to us ready to relax as he had unfortunately been racing for the first 5 years of his life. He is the sweetest, most lovable dog we've ever had, We have recently retired and we our adult daughter lives with us. Now was finally the right time for us to have a whippet. 3 weeks ago, we welcomed our new little guy home. He is obsessed with the greyhound, and our big boy, who had never known how to play is learning how to now Although he certainly can't match the boundless energy of this boy, he has fallen in love. Every time the whippet is ready to nap, he heads for his buddy and sniggles up to him. Greyhounds are also very dramatic, so we are used to the behavior, and although we knew about the chaos a whippet puppy would bring, we're still surprised at how he flies around. We are enjoying his puppyhood, but also look forward to his growing up We love him, and are looking forward to life with him for a long time to come. Thank you so much for your videos. I have watched several of them today, and shared with my family. We will be better whippet parents thanks to you.

You are showing Greyhounds in your video...not Whippets. Whippets are mini greyhounds...much smaller ... mix of Terrier and Greyhound...
@ShowPaws23 күн бұрын
I don't think I've included footage of greyhounds in this video, as all 7 dogs in it are owned by me and couldn't be more whippets than they are, all between 47 and 52cm (at withers) 😊

I have two Whippets. One is 5, the other is 1 1/2. The older one doesn't really smell, but his blankets in his crate do, they have to be washed frequently. Not sure why that is when he doesn't smell. The younger one's blankets don't smell. Odd. Also, that same Whippet sheds, a LOT. Black fur everywhere. But his coat is lovely, soft and shiny. Another oddity. I'd love to get a bird, a parrot type (I'd love to get an Indian Ringneck, they are on the small size), but I hesitate because of the dogs. Parrots need to come out of their cages to get the attention they need, but I worry that the dogs would go after it. Mine have full permission to be on the furniture. I do have some inexpensive soft blankets on the couch and chairs. They sleep in crates at night, since they were puppies. I don't want such *big* dogs with long stick legs in my bed, nor do I want the fur in my bed. They love their crates and will often put themselves to bed. Nice video, thank you!

I love your videos ! They are so inspiring and helpful and honest ! Keep up with them ❤ I would love to know about colors and their development over time . I love the white sand / Creme / striped look so much …. Especially with the big dark eyes. I will get a whippet soon when i feel it learned enough about them…. I would love to know how to find / choose a good litter breeder and what are good signs for healthy dogs and humans to choose from…❤

In my household the snoot is referred to the cock nose, and thus the whippet is referred to as a cock nosed dog. Another function of the cock nose poking out the blanket is to received large amounts of countless boops and do nothing about it.

His name is Master, and he's black with a white patch on his chest.. He absolutely loves being messed around with, especially by visitors, and more than happy to engage the play stance at the slightess indication of play. His bite suppression is 110%, he might only lean his open mouth on you. He mostly sleeps at our feet, but sometimes he puts his head on the pillow like a human. He always curls his tail when he anticipates something. He makes sure to escort all guests in and out of the house from the front gate. I don't have time to write the rest of this thesis, get your own whippet!
