Toyota Corolla Smart Key Battery Change HOW TO

Hello, this week we have one of the latest Toyota smart keys. This one is for a Toyota Corolla, but other models are similar.
This is very easy to change and you will need a CR2032 key battery and no special tools.

Many thanks. You made this so easy. Brings back memories of taking a Ford Focus in for a service at a main dealership and receiving a phone call later in the day to say that the key battery needed replacing and it would cost about £45. This came as a bit of an unpleasant shock especially when I pointed out to the caller that I hadn't actually left them the electronic key, just the spare which was just an ordinary mechanical one which obviously didn't have a battery. Cue embarrassed silence on the other end of the phone followed by an assortment of weak excuses for the error ... main dealers eh!!

Both my keys needed new batteries, I paid for one in Timpsons and now feel a right mug because changing the other one was so easy thanks to this video!

Hi Nicolas, we only use branded batteries, Duracell, Maxell, Eveready etc. There are some more good ones, but also so many bad brands to avoid......

For some reason new non-branded battery don't work, Camelion from Lidl or some place, easy to check fob by pushing pushing button on the fob and check is there red light. New battery has 3,3 volts, old panasonic 2,9 volts, and funniest thing is that panasonic works every time but camelion not. Gotta go to buy panasonic battery even thought i don't understand why similar cr2032 don't work.
