The hype was real!! I think that’s the only time I’ve left the dock as the suns coming up, caught a monster fish, came in washed the boat cleaned the fish, cooked the fish, and ate it before the sun even set..

I know that doesn’t happen often lol

I have an avet hxj 5/2 magic cast raptor. I want to spool it with braid backing and mono top shot for sharks. What is the heaviest mono that i can cast 100 yds?
@YakinwithJack2 сағат бұрын
I’m not to fimaliar with casting mono but I’m sure the the lighter the better

I'll be in that area here in a couple weeks with my FD1. No one gives you a hard time using the drone?

What’s the best combos for trolling and those reefers? Are you using 30/0?40/0? 4000-6000? Spinning 7ft or so? I’m just getting into sport and trying to figure out best equipment!
@YakinwithJack3 күн бұрын
Any 5000 reel will do I like a 7ft rod or a little bigger so is can maneuver around my Kayak. I use 30 pound braid on all my trolling setups. On my bottom reels I 50 pound braid

Hey Jack! Do you not use your floats on the drone? I saw that Perdido Blane had lost a blade or something, causing his to crash on the beach. If that had happened 200 meters out in the surf, I'm guessing it would have been lost. Just a thought for what it's worth. Another great video, as always.

What would you recommend as a "budget" rod and reel for casting to sharks from the beach? Only get to go 4-6 times per year and don't want to drop $1k+
@YakinwithJack5 күн бұрын
A Penn battle 6k-8k reel will a heavy dirt rod. Ugly stick makes a fairly cheep one around $100

You should put out a video on how to cast the big ninja tackle rods. I use the 12’ daggers with 6500 Penn Slammer and it’s so hard for me to hold onto the line. I’m using a cast cannon attached to the rod but it’s still touch.
