I probably can never afford anything higher than a 991 - and my dad has a 991 911 PDK - I have a 911 996 - Manual of course, and although the PDK is great, the 996 feels more connected and driver focused. Either way - its a shame manufacturers are going the auto way. Even many leaners in the UK are passing on auto only cars lol.
