If you want to be healthier, you could replace the cereals with oat meal. 1 kg of oat meal costs about 1.50-2.00 euros. And if you get a package with bran, a nice bowl of porridge with lots of fiber will feed good microbes in your gut. Also, carrots, onions and cabbage are very cheap. Lots of vitamins and fiber to keep you healthy. Rye bread might be a little bit more expensive than Xtra white bread but it will keep hunger away much longer. Stay well and healthy, bro!

Your Finnish pronunciation nowadays is really good. "Tippaleipä" went really smooth. I know some people from abroad who's living here a long time and couldn't even nowadays pronounce it so well.

It's not "rocket bullet". Its a cannon shell from continuation war. And they are writing "Mainilaan/to Mainila" its a city that russia bombarded in 26.11.1939, they blamed Finland for that and started winter war. In this picture, few years later Finland is getting revenge.

Sima isn't actually a soda, even though it is carbonated. Sima is basically mead (viking honey wine) although modern sima isn't made with honey, but with brown sugar.

It's not illegal to drive a bike drunk....as long it's not really dangerous. Ive seen finnish police take, what seemed like local drunk and they knew him by name, to sleep it over in jail...release next morning. I remember when i went to university of Tampere and bus stop was near bus station. I had to walk if it was morning class like 500m and some mornings there came ppl from "drunkjail how we call it" to ask if i had a lighter and "where fuck is my phone?" well i just said that yes i do as i'm a smoker and don't know about your phone. Usually they were very glad to get a smoke and light for it.

Bidet’s are becoming more popular in the US. When I lived in Australia, everybody had them. Once you lived with them, you kinda like to have them. They’re very good for when you need to clean up changing hygiene products. It’s also good for after sex with your husband and no condom and you just want to freshen up, so you don’t have slime rolling down your legs all night. I found that Middle Eastern people find our hygiene to be disgusting because we don’t have bidets the US. 🤷♀️

4:55 It's about money. When your hotel (which rebuilds every year and also costs money) only gets a certain amount of paying customers, it means that only a certain amount of money accumulates, which then goes to hotel maintenance, salaries, etc. and advertising, as much as you can afford advertise. AND how you advertise ice hotel, is challenge, and that ice hotel is advertised more to tourists, because Finland also needs income from tourism.

Actually the part about the bear is wrong. The bear was sacred, yes. It was the vessel of the forrest god, Tapio. After felling one, you were supposed to hang it's skull into a pine tree and hold a huge feast to honor the bear and Tapio. You can already see there from where the Finnish practical thinking comes from. The Forest god's form (the bear) was considered as a gift for the people to stay alive.

The wife carrying competition has an interesting history. When Finland was comprised of only small tribal vilages, men sometimes stole wifes from other tribes. They literally went in during the night and took a woman by force to be married. They understood the importance of avoiding incest, something the European royal houses never did to this day. 😅😅
@Aquelll25 күн бұрын
The ice hotel is fully booked every winter. Why would you use money for advertisement, if you are fully booked regardless? You need to attract enough people, not all the people.

We had blood pancakes at school in regular intervals. Never tasted them, the idea of eating blood is revolting to me. Läskisoosi is HORRIBLE... slimy, fatty meat that is not good enough for anything else. Scraps in a stew. And "viedään saunan taakse" does not mean shut up. It is a threat, behind the sauna was the place where livestock was slaughtered. So, if someone says that to you, it is not just simple "shut up", you need to start looking behind your back.
@squidcaps430825 күн бұрын
Heh, good reaction to the 1st item on the list... That was honest, because there was no point in that, like.. describing land borders makes a country special.. lol.. It is AI voiced video, the bottom of the barrel stuff. And yes, that happiness report is starting to become annoying. This is just less shitty place and the idea of what happiness is is quite modest. If you are not sick, don't suffer from hunger then you are ok, and ok is about the same as happy.

Better name for the Happiness Report could be "Life Satisfactory Report"
