Hello Traveling Maritimers, I’ve been watching your videos and noticed you haven’t posted in a few years- will you be doing any more of Nova Scotia? Thanks, Suzanne nd Bob

So the only way you know that it has switched tanks is by the flags changing from green to red or from red back to green .Green does not mean that he tank is full nor does red mean the tank is empty.They could have used other colors like orange and blue.You must make a note of what color the flags are when you connect the first tank and turn the lever to that tank.Only by the color change do you know it switched tanks.When you see that color change you turn the lever to the othe tank and write down the color and repeat this process.If you forget what the color is you won't know what happened and then will have to shake the tanks to find out which tank is empty.

Hey guys thanks for the Cabot Trail videos, you hit the nail right on the head with our style. We are planning a trip up to NS for a month and your videos helped planning the north part. Coming from North Carolina so it will be a long trip. Planning mid August to mid september, hopefully not too many bugs or crowds. Thanks again.

Won’t the side with Anderson levelers be a bit higher than the side without the Anderson levelers?🤔
@TravelingMaritimers2 ай бұрын
Yes, if the ground was level to begin with. But in that case you would need any levelers. We use the Andersens on the low side, to bring the low side of the trailer to the same height as the high side of the trailer. I may not have answered your question...let me know if I haven't.

thanks for the video! it's crazy how many of us cape bretoners spend our lives here, in towns like sydney or glace bay but never get to see some of the sights CB has to offer. i'm glad you enjoyed your stay! Margaree, cheticamp, Ingonish and Louisbourg are MUST see's by the way!

Loom the wire to protect it

It looks sturdy, but rather have something which can be bolted.
@davva3604 ай бұрын
My first and most important piece of advice. Be very careful removing the old jack. I just replaced one because the motor went bad with a new one and one of the three bolts sheared off. It turned a 15 minute job into a nightmare, finding a drill bit capable of drilling out the old bolt. Once I got it out it took minutes to switch as the wiring for mine was already there. I would recommend taking the weight off the tongue before you attempt to remove the bolts, liberal spraying of some kind of release agent, and gentle patience.

New subscriber here, I found your video on Cape Breton, which led me to have a closer look at your content. I love your descriptions of the campgrounds and hiking trails, I just made reservations for Headquarters campground today for our trip to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. We are leaving Texas in the USA at the end of April. Like you said, Cape Breton isn't close to any place, so we need to get our Class C motorhome rolling early in the eason. We recently retired, and this will be our 1st trip out of the United States.

The video says 2020, was this trip 3 years ago? You made reference to your battery problems in the last video. I'm assuming that your battery change was after this trip.
@TravelingMaritimers8 ай бұрын
Yep, trip was in 2020. We upgraded the batteries in 2021 but just made the video this year.

Get yourself a battery monitor to more accurately monitor your battery level. The trailer control panel isn't the most accurate. I'm headed to Fundy Cannontown on Wed-Sun this week, will I be seeing you?@@TravelingMaritimers

Why is it called. Automatic change over. If u still have to turn switch over to full tank
@TravelingMaritimers8 ай бұрын
When one tank empties, the regulator will 'automatically' start drawing from the other tank. Moving the switch to the new tank will reset the color to 'black' instead of 'red'. I hope this helps.

so this single-wire jack relies on accidental metal-metal contact between jack base pate and trailer frame for the other half of the electrical circuit.
@TravelingMaritimers10 ай бұрын
That's right. Although it's not really accidental. There are three large bolts holding the base plate to the frame. We've had it for over three years now, no issues.
@RamHemi5.74 ай бұрын
Should have cleaned the rust out from under the old jack plate before putting the new one on

Nice to see you posting videos again. I've been using 6v Interstates (Lead-Acid) since I bought my trailer 5 years ago and have had no issues so far. I have had to add water to them periodically in the last couple years but am still getting my full 225 AH. I've seen you at Fundy at the end of the last few seasons...maybe I'll see you this October. I'm booked for the last weekend Cannontown is open.

I’m currently in the planning stages of an RV roadtrip to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland for summer (now thinking early fall because of your mentioning) of 2024. It’ll be a LONG road trip from Northern California with a few friends and their RVs joining us along the way. I had originally thought only of Nova Scotia, but learning so much about NL I know it has to be included. We’re all 64, retired or about to be, and don’t want to put these bucket list items off any longer. It’s just so hard to know what sights to include or not. We’re all in good shape, love to walk/hike. I’ll be checking your channel for more videos to help me plan. I loved this video as you got right to the point in each tip. Well done, thanks!
@TravelingMaritimers10 ай бұрын
Sounds like a great trip! If you have any questions or we can help in any way, just give a shout. NS and NL are spectacular, you'll love visiting. NB and PEI have lots of hidden gems too!

@markintx262811 ай бұрын
So do you leave both tanks open. If not how will it know when to switch.

Yes, for the auto change-over function to work, you need both tanks open.

Can you use hand tools or a power drill to attach the bolts if you dont have a torque wrench?
@TravelingMaritimers11 ай бұрын
I don't think you'd get enough torque from a power drill. As far as hand tools, I guess it depends. If you had a long handled socket driver, like a breaker bar, you should be able to get them tight enough. If you don't think you have the proper tools, I'd highly recommend taking it to an RV service location to have it installed.
