I live in Pennsylvania and this is really a hike for us, two day of long long driving each day, just to get to Baddeck NS. We always say it took us 40+ years to get there . Planned this trip for years but never made it until June of 2018. I really wish we would have gone earlier when the kids were in their teens. It is well worth it. It is an underrated destination. I can see why because it is very difficult to get to even for Canadians. I'll be 75 if we make it back in 2022 like we plan. Wish l could hike and explore more but health cares reasons prevent it. Got to make it to Nova Scotia one more time. Go now don't wait.

I’m currently in the planning stages of an RV roadtrip to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland for summer (now thinking early fall because of your mentioning) of 2024. It’ll be a LONG road trip from Northern California with a few friends and their RVs joining us along the way. I had originally thought only of Nova Scotia, but learning so much about NL I know it has to be included. We’re all 64, retired or about to be, and don’t want to put these bucket list items off any longer. It’s just so hard to know what sights to include or not. We’re all in good shape, love to walk/hike. I’ll be checking your channel for more videos to help me plan. I loved this video as you got right to the point in each tip. Well done, thanks!

Go to a square dance. Even in the sticks, they are really fun, and can be a great way to meet the community. Also, they sell drink tickets. 20 bucks gets you 10 drinks. They free pour. So you are leaving hammered.

@kgm4556
@kgm4556 2 жыл бұрын
@@littleliv8132 Can’t drop links, but one of the best square dancing places is “West Mabou” it’s faar out in the boonies, but they are often attended by many young people from all over NS. Usually held on Sat nights, run into 1-2 AM. They have drink tickets, which make it cheap as hell to drink, and they free pour. Hosted at West Mabou hall. As for good bars, stick to Sydney. The Old Triangle, Daniels, Steel City (Wed night) are all a great time. If you want to get greasy, the Capri is always an option, but only for sloppy nights. One of my favourite swimming spots that I don’t think any tourists know of is “Polar Bear Beach” which is in South Bar. It isn’t as impressive as like Ingo or black brook beach, but it is close to sydney, and I have tonnes of great memories there. As for food, The Bonney Prince is great for a pub style food (Wings and Poutine is my favourite). Kenneys Pizza is my favourite (controversial). Might not be worth going to like Glace Bay (Miners museum is really cool though) or New Waterford, which are like the two other “cities” in Cape Breton. Iona Highland village and Fort of Louisburg are really cool for history. The Highlands are where Cb really shines though, Ingonish, the Cabot trail etc.

Cape Breton in September is awesome, October can get a little chilly in an RV. We did Nova Scotia in an RV in mid-to-end September which was pretty epic. October would have been to cold in an RV from our point of view, but still an awesome time of the year. Target for this year was March to get some snow and winter, but with Covid we can´t fly over even though we have property now.

If you're traveling the Cabot Trail, our favorite hike, by far, was the Skyline Trail near the Cheticamp side of the National Park. We didn't actually get to do any kayaking while we were there, but The Bras D'Or Lakes region looked amazing. I'm sure you'll have fun regardless of what you end up doing. I admit what it's about: not as smart men not being the part of extra intelligent rights, but those can be figured out, without a need for a scope of a bureaucracy that isn't as free as free. And nice women get to - nice men might get to also. Yes, there are weird people and animals who will delight and indulge in and around ANYWHERE. The Nutmeg Party. Food is love, though, for slow languid women to chastise populations with which moralists grow or not.
