Last week-end I started to use my new Osmo Pocket 3 and I totally agree with you: it's so easy to use it that I have recorded more than usual! 🤦♀🤦♀

Thanks for the informative video Hugh. I've bought the Osmo Pocket 3, but am having some trouble colour grading D-Log M. If you have any tips on this, I would very much appreciate it.
@HuFilms18 сағат бұрын
Thanks, if using resolve to grade. add a colour transform node and weaken the opacity a bit. I may do a tutorial.
@CosyCottageCamper17 сағат бұрын
@HuFilms Thank you. I do use resolve. Do I still need to use the DJI Dlog M conversion to rec 709 first?

Hi! Great and interesting video. I'm looking for a camera do make some KZbin videos about board games. That's going to include studio shots, B-roll but also some on the go footage (like at a convention). Do you think the DJI osmo pocket is a good camera for this? Thanks!
@HuFilms17 сағат бұрын
I wouldn't really recommend this camera as you won't use the gimbal element. For this stuff, you'd be better off with a used mirrorless or even a blackmagic cam. You might have to spend a bit more, but it's gonna be a better option.

Starting off this video by feeling very educated, and learned a lot from it, then slowly feeling like it’s a personal attack and get mildly offended by it 🤣 This is SO VERY HELPFUL, thank you so much Hugh! I am so very guilty of those two bad habits 🥲🥲 but thanks for calling me out!
@HuFilms17 сағат бұрын
Ha ha, thanks Laura, well, I did admit that I too am guilty. Great channel btw, keep up the good work! 👏

Problem with moving in and getting tighter shots is the wide angle distortion. Whether shooting w a phone, mirrorless or pocket a tight shot with a wide angle will never look great-at least in my view. If they had a tele lens adapter it seems the osmo pocket 3 would be perfect.
@HuFilms17 сағат бұрын
I agree, a more zoomed in look would be nice. Like what they've done with their drones.

Very good! Thank you for all the great info. I can see that you are not from the states, your accent made me laugh, sorry I’m not making fun of you I’m just saying, couldn’t stop laughing when I heard you say “rule of turds” which is totally different from thirds. But thank you so much, supper appreciated it.

Would create DJI a version that has 20-85mm zoom as well as an electronic nd filter? Then I would leave a lot of my equipment behind. Even if it was twice the weight or size
@HuFilms18 сағат бұрын
I've been saying this from the start. In 2016 DJI had a version of the X5 you could use on the Osmo handle. 5K raw MFT sensor. They didn't develop that side of things as much as they could have. It's the same with their drones. The fact that there's 3 separate cams on the drone instead of a zoom system seems a bit silly. In years to come the tech will be amazing.

No Shit Sherlock! Just from your title that is my response! For crying out loud the R5 Mark II is a photo camera with video modes the R5C… C denotes a Cinema camera or a dedicated video camera, it should be better! Not watching just because your title tells me you’re doing apples to oranges and making a thing out of it, well done you got your video in front of me and failed to convert it to a view!

The problem with us photographers and videographers is that we care too much about how the result looks or sounds (as with the mic). I haven't seen any youtube consumer who said "oh the bokeh is not nice on this channel or the video is not wide enough. Let's skip this channel". Although sound is important a decent mic will do well I think. No KZbin consumer will be able to tell the quality difference between a red 1 and a pocket 3 video. All we do is pumping us up with stuff that we think is important to the viewer, but the viewer/consumer doesn't care at all.

None of these type of videos this vs that is helping me. Soooo many videos now comparing R5 vs Mk2 vs R5c and most conflict the other videos. Honestly Im hesitant to watch another. Just too confusing now. I will just rent and compare it myself to fulfill my expectation and needs.

Hey great video, thank you for it. I’m a current c100 mkii user but now that I’ve signed multiple brand deals I’m getting requests for 4K files which is unfortunate because I don’t shoot raw, only SOOC and I love working with small file sizes. Can you or anyone speak on the R5C 4K file sizes compared o the c100 mkii? Thanks!

You should sell the LUT you use to make your Osmo Pocket 3 videos look so nice. I will be buying mine in a few days and I love the way your videos look. I would be the first buyer of your LUT, believe me

Hey Hugh. I use the osmo for weddings and I note when I’m using it to pan left and right, final results seem clunky and jittery….what frame rate is best for silky smooth non jittery footage. Same with drop down shots…
@HuFilms10 күн бұрын
Hey! depending on the timeline, you should always conform the frame rates so they match. Generally speaking, pan shots aren't that nice to look at so avoid panning for a start. Also, avoid using the joystick and opt to track a subject and walk sideways. Not sure if this makes sense!
