I believe there isn’t any other video on KZbin that describes me better than you!!! Thank you for the inspiration and advices ❤. I am in the exact same situation right now, I mean literally every word you said is me right now 😢. I am getting so much hate I didn’t know what to do and I searched for something like this. Would love to hear some extra advices from you 😊. Liked and subscribed mister!

Such fantastic and wise insight. From a (relatively new) manufacturer's perspective, we love this. We have learned throughout the process too as we get no less than 20 requests a day for "collabs", predominantly from those with very small audiences just chasing free product. Their product knowledge often appears very limited. We don't go for big audiences, but we go for those with engaged audiences (no matter the size), and someone who is credible and understands their craft. We don't want positive reviews just based on the fact they received the product free - we simply want honest feedback , because we believe in the product and we want the reviewer to do so as well. The audience will quickly work out if the review is genuine or not. We recently stopped doing collabs, and instead we launched a 'Creator Program' - I won't go into detail here as that might be seen as advertising on your channel - not our intention - but it means the creators have some "skin in the game" and is more likely to mean their thoughts and opinions are more honest. Even if that means less content out there about our products. Keep up the great work and keep it honest Hugh.

@@HuFilms Lots of You Tubers give the same reviews on new product and don't know how to properly review or work that new camera. We know the GH7 is great and the Z6 III is great but oh no the C400 is just ok. Watch the reviews. Even You Tubers that commented in response to your OP video are doing exactly what you say they shouldn't do.

Nice video. I have a small channel and recently have been contacted by a company who make AI gimbals and offered me a free gimbal in exchange of the review. It was very tempting as it's a first time that any brand wanted to work with me but after a serious thought, I refused the offer because first of all I don't know much about the gimbals and secondly I can't do any reviews in which everything I say is not my own.

Enjoyed this video Hugh, fair play to you. It's a tricky balance alright, but I think you are on the right track with incorporating the product into a real world scenario rather than an unboxing. There are more than enough of those, and they often tell you nothing about the practicalities of the product itself. I'm looking to get back into shooting more video and photo stuff which is what brought me to your KZbin channel (your rf200-800 review being used in Irish weather conditions). As a working gaffer, I have essentially given up on the majority of online review channels which are usually terrified about saying anything negative. But for example, there's one guy in particular, Andrew Lock, who has a channel called Gaffer and Gear, and he does great reviews where he will point out the pros and cons as well as all the technical stuff. But his pointing out the negatives comes from his real world experience of being a working gaffer. Now he doesn't get that many views compared to the more influencer type of reviewer, but basically every gaffer I know goes there first to check out a new product. Now that ive found your channel i'll be curious to see what you'll review next. Always looking to see how people here get on with gear in our weather and lighting conditions. All the best from the rebel county. 😀

Hi Hugh, Thanks for another fantastic video. Because of your review of the Pocket 3, I bought one to use for my pilgrimage. Always love your videos, Hugh. Just one audio suggestion. Lav mics, in general, sound really "dead" to my ears. Clear, but dead. Since you filming in such a beautiful location, why not mix in some of the ambient audio, too? Since you have the Osmo pocket 3, you can always have a second camera running and just get the audio off of that. I think it would just add another dimension to your Vlogs. Hope that helps, and look forward to your next video. Mark in Marin County, California
@HuFilms6 ай бұрын
I actually fully agree with you and thanks for saying it, this video was a casual affair to start out with and I'm kinda tiring of the lav sound if I'm honest. Some of the closer shots to camera had nicer sound from the on cam mic but I couldn't mix it in effectively. I think I'm going to bring the Sennheiser 416 next time. Audio is everything!
@marin_real_estate_photography6 ай бұрын
@@HuFilms Yes, I noticed that too, that the audio from the onboard camera mics sounded pretty nice and more "natural." And by the way, if in your travels you ever come out to San Francisco, way out here in California, I will take you out for some good Mexican food. Or In-N-Out Burger, if you prefer. Or both!!!

About the moza slypod.. Iv seen just positive reviews but i was still concerned if it would wobble because you know it SEEMS TO ME THAT IT WILL. i was getting into product videography at that time and with s probe lens ANY wobble will show. Got the product, used it for 1 min 30 sec and sent it back , it was unbearable with the probe lens. Good product, nobody mentioned this.. got an edelkrone slider instead, everytime I had any problem they helped me out instantly.

there is nothing wrong with giving impression and providing footage before a camera is released to the stores to give first impression , sure there is some marketing involved as company's have designed it for certain segment , but its not like reviewers must say this is the best camera on earth period or something silly like that. many youtubers who are affiliated with brands often provide educational material ,
@adidabax68096 ай бұрын
It's a hugely important thing for buyers. Otherwise they only get initial information from the company and stores. Yes, you obviously have to listen with some judgement that they likely have a good relationship with a company, but they also dispel a lot of the rumors going around.
@HuFilms6 ай бұрын
I agree with you here. But lots of manufacturers send stuff out for review as their main marketing method. I’m referring to cheaper accessories than cameras such as mics and lights etc.

Well Hugh good points, but look at it that way. The benq thing may attract few as*holes like me who think that you are professional and not knowing about calibration doesn't make much of a sense to me, you've sold that BenQ monitor and you could use that money to buy something like that DJI pocket 3... Its probably worth getting few uncomfortable comments, rather than do mics for 130 sitting on your shelf 😉 I think ppl in general if they have the money should buy stuff which is interesting to them for reviews and then just sell it. If some product videos taking you a day or 2 to do, you could also get paid job and have money for things you actually want to support because you like them and see some sens in doing the review for them.
