I’m the same I never liked the ar platform since Russian made is much more reliable, but I was looking for a rifle that weighs less than my vepr, so I got a 7.62 ar for so. Texas hog elimination.

Buffers can be tricky. Start carbine 3 .oz and spring. Heavy buffers can cause misfeeds from well functioning mags. KAK uppers seem to be gassed well and are from a company doing the 47 platform for some time. BRA bolts run full auto all day. An awesome round to run short with little loss of effectiveness, more so from a reliable platform.

Very informative, thank you. So dyeing green camo a fully solid color isn't possible?
@ExtremelyAverageMan29 күн бұрын
You can dye them green (forest green/apple green are good choices) but the ACU does have shades of camoflage in it, so it's not really going to be a solid color, hope that helped!

Bro! Your video was EXCELLENT!!! Quite possibly the most clear, concise, honest, thurough and organized presentation i have ever seen on any topic. I had no idea i needed a 7.62x39 upper, but, after watching your video, it not only makes logical sense (ammo cost, 30 caliber option) to build one, but i don't have any apprehension as to where to start or what to do! You have simply removed any fear or hesitation that i would ordinarily have if someone told me i should go and do something i've never done before. You seem to have a gift for teaching and communicating with unusual clarity. Thank you!

Building a x39 patrol rifle. Have a BCA side charger, but it's too front heavy with a Sandman S suppressor. Starting with a PWS 16" piston upper Gen2 MK 116. Using an Aero Precision M4E1 receiver with a Rise Armament LE 145 single stage drop in trigger. Armaspec Stealth H2 captured recoil buffer, forward controls REF buffer tube, end cap and castle nut. Ambi safety and mag release because I'm a southpaw. Eotech EXPS 3-0 on top. I'm almost 64 and most of my battle rifles just aren't practical. I prefer the ergonomics of the AR platform, and a 30 cal. round. The linear recoil impulse of the AR is much better than the AK, it's lightweight, and reliable. I'm not a sniper, my intent is for fast, reasonably accurate shots and a platform I can trust my life to. In reality, the ranges I anticipate engagement to be 400 yards and under. Since my wife is paralyzed from a stroke, I'll be hunkering down. Normal velocity 7.62x39 suppresses well enough. The can is more for flash mitigation. I'm putting a B5 Sopmod stock on it. I like the cheekweld it has. Just putting this out there. Still putting it together. Just got out of the hospital after a week in the ICU, so I can't do much now. I just can't wait to put it through the paces. Love my guns. Thanks for the excellent video. Have a great day!

After around a year my AR47 runs well. Replaced my Firing Pin with an "Enhanced Bear Creek" in SS. So I have an extra. I only used Brass so not an issue. Will be purchasing Extra parts and things. My x39 is a standard rear and my 5.56 is my side charge. So backwards. But I'm going to be purchasing a different upper in x39. Thanks for the info. Great video. Will check my gas system and recheck my weight in my buffer on both builds. Not my first rodeo, but I only run around 3-5 hundred rounds a year as I can't afford it. I live on SS. Again thanks

I have to ask before I can watch the whole video, how did CMMG address the breaking of extractors when firing 7.62 from a 5.56 bolt? Ill be walking the dog a listening. Thank you.
@ExtremelyAverageMan2 ай бұрын
Well with the Mutant/Mk.47, it's actually a properly-sized but proprietary bolt. It's essentially a scaled down .308 bolt (or scaled-up AR-15 bolt) that has beefy bolt lugs and extractor. It solves the AR-47 shortcomings!
@Techn0mancer2 ай бұрын
You should check out the Wolfpack Armory WP-47. At my local gun store it was $800 brand new, but just from a cursory look over it gave off a cheap feeling. Idk tho could be a more budget friendly competitor
@ExtremelyAverageMan2 ай бұрын
Whoa, absolute steal! Aren't they pushing $1000 or more? Yeah it appears they're going after the Mk.47 from an aesthetic standpoint...are they equally as reliable?
@Techn0mancer2 ай бұрын
@@ExtremelyAverageMani haven’t shot one yet but when I held one at the store I noticed it didn’t feel as well crafted as the CMMG. I inspected them one after the other and there was a noticeable difference. I rolled the trigger and it felt pretty fudgy compared to the stock trigger on the MK47. It also came off the shelf with parts I’ve grown to dislike, biggest example is the buttstock and pistol grip. It’s the bear creek arsenal AR of mutants. I’d say it’s not worth $1000. ALSO is there anywhere you’d recommend I buy Bakelite mags from?
@Techn0mancer2 ай бұрын
@@ExtremelyAverageManrecently I got to see the Wolf Pack WP47 Elite Rifle, that thing is the real deal. It’s awesome. Only thing I had a slight issue with was that it’s designed for p mags only, has a very hard time with other models of AK mags if not outright being incompatible.
@ExtremelyAverageMan2 ай бұрын
@@Techn0mancer I would ask around in some AK groups, there's people that have much more knowledge than I do when it comes to Bakelite mags...mine happens to be a Tula. I bought mine a few years back because I heard how scarce (and expensive!) they were becoming, so I bought mine for $100 at a gun show. To be fair, I replaced almost all of the furniture and the trigger on my Mutant, so if you plan on doing the same to the WP-47 and as long as the BCG and internals are solid, it might actually be a better investment than the Mutant haha.
@ExtremelyAverageMan2 ай бұрын
@@Techn0mancer A bit disappointing, but not a complete deal breaker. At the range, and for my more serious "go-to" mags, the Gen 3 P-mags are some of the best when it comes to weight, durability, reliability, affordability, and commonality I would say.

With the molle installation. You can make a 3rd strap (a dummy one) and put it between the two you are going to sew in Then you can have few pins or the lock in pins to secure the two straps from movement (even like single stitch from either side, if you dont have those, works)
@jrshoun13 ай бұрын
I just received a new MK47 Resolute that came with a bolt stop/release installed. This is not the Dissent! It’s not a last round bolt hold open due to the AK magazine but it’s still a good feature for those that were complaining that the platform didn’t come with one.

At this rate with the money you’ve now put into this project, might as well just buy a condor or other cheap chest rig with all the pockets you need already built in
@ExtremelyAverageMan3 ай бұрын
I've done that as well, however there are very few mag pouches on the market that hold a 7.62x39 magazine well. Chicom rigs happen to hold them beautifully at no additional cost. unlike my Condor OPS rig. The Elite rig would be the exception, but doesn't allow for customization, as everything on it is built-in.

I know I am a little late to the comment section here, but this video is outstanding. I wished it was around years ago when I was trying to figure out how to build a reliable “AR47.” I will tell you after building many of these rifles that my best experience with BCG’s has been with the Fail Zero nickel boron. They are pricey, but have proven to be the most reliable BCG I have ever used in this platform. I would consider them second to none in performance and reliability not to mention they are worth their weight in gold when it comes to the reduction in frustration that comes with extractors and firing pin failures. Thank you for the very informative video, it is very obvious that you have an exceptional level of experience with this platform as you massed your information exactly where the problems lie with the “AR47.”

For the admin pouch, I think you can go even cheaper by copying the admin pouch from a p83. Although It wouldn't be practical to add a dangler, expect if it is first sewn, then add the p83 style admin pouch on top
