What a great tip on using the tack to hold small parts for gluing. You have no idea how many parts I've shot across the room using tweezers. The Mustang looks so awesome.

That came out awesome! May I suggest try using a bead picker from H.L. or Jo-anne fabrics. It's pencil shaped with a large/small dab of somewhat sticky silicone on each end. Its in the beading section. I find it helpful for installing small parts on my models. Although I like your tip of using mounting tack to hold small parts for assembling. Thanks for sharing.

What ca glue do you use
@JHartModelworks7 күн бұрын
I use Bob Smith. For clear parts I use the super gold plus, and for mostly everything else I use the purple insta-cure. The blue insta cure is like water. It cures too fast and honestly it's completely locked up my bottle. It's pricier than the cheap stuff, but for me it works really well so it's worth it.

@@iancameron198 Thanks. The colors are House of Kolor Burgundy candy over House of Kolor Galaxy Gray base. The stripes are Toyota Asphalt gray metallic. All of it came from scale finishes, and if you order from him and use code JHart10 it'll save you 10%.

Question where did you find your pencil for your gluing
@JHartModelworks7 күн бұрын
I grab mine from amazon. It's pretty much just a standard 0.5mm mechanical pencil. I use a 0.3 for detail painting. The one's I'm currently using are from Nicpro but any pencil will do. Thanks for stopping by and watching and have a great weekend.

Thanks Mike! I use photoshop for my decals, but only because I have a copy from like 20 years ago. that @#$% is expensive and monthly subscription only now. I don't really know any of the free software enough to do a demo. maybe I'll look into that when I have time (... whenever that will be)

@JHartModelworks9 күн бұрын
@freeatleast actually I didn't forget. I 3D printed one of my dome lights for the build, but all the reference photos I looked at on actual 69 cobra jets didn't show a dome light. I think there may have been some tiny map lights in the back but I just didn't want to mess with anything that small. They would be less than a mm diameter circles. But thanks for watching attentively! 😁👍

I really like your videos maybe you could probably help me out I have a 3d printed 572 super charged engine now I don't know how to paint it or what colors to use so needless to say iam stuck with a gray primed motor hope you could throw a wrench at me thanks for you time
@JHartModelworks11 күн бұрын
Option 1 is to browse the net to see what colors the engine "should be" abd issue similar color paints. Option 2, which I'm fond of, is to paint the block in black or some form of silver like steel or aluminum, paint the heads a brighter silver, do the valve covers abd top of air cleaner in body color. Oil pan can be bright silver, chrome, good, or body color. And to break things IP I do the intake manifold in something like a gin metal / magnesium. Carbs silver and/or gold. That usually gets you a nice "show car" engine.
