Just realized that this was her theme song for her show. Never knew who sang it but it’s nice to see that it was her and a choir.

For me this song is very bitter-sweet. I actually went through a lot of early trauma and already had trust issues, when I went through something as a young adult that made me shut myself off in a very big way. I cut everyone out of my life and stopped going anywhere unless it was a necessary evil like making money or getting groceries. When I was a child I though the song sounded happy and fairy-like. At that point I thought it was sad. But I kept listening anyway. However someone I cohost push away helped me get into therapy and get my life back. I later married that man. Now, years later when I hear this, it has a sort of nostalgia for that dark time, because I realize I had to go through it. I had to shut down in order to give myself time to heal. It had to get worse before it got better, and I had to be a detached and isolated person to do that. I got into the first and only healthy relationship I’ve had after starting to come out the other side. If I hadn’t taken two years off of being a social creature I would have just caused myself more stress. The only company I could handle was my own and through therapy I became my support system and eventually started living again. There is a comfort in a mental breakdown because for the first time in a long time, possibly ever, you have no expectations on you, or at least you don’t care about them. You just do what your mind can handle and once you come out of that, you can miss that feeling and block out the underlying pain you had behind that comfort. Music can be a popular tool to look back without getting too deep into the full headspace you were in at that time.

Sounds like that skydiving moment was a momentary wake up call. And maybe God WAS actually reminding him he's lovely but he's mortal and to make it all count. I wish he knew Jesus.

Patti sang get with the program for Oprah and when homegirl retired that theme song she said: “I can do that too!” After Whitney made fun of her one too many times, that theme song shortened to not include her voice at all 😂
