I try so hard to paint as you do!! You manage to keep your paintings so fresh. Tell me you didn't learn how to do this overnight!

Thanks so much for your response. It took me about 6 rough paintings to get to this execution. Lots of crumbled tries laying on the studio floor. I haven't posted for a while because I am experimenting with some new ideas, which comes with many failures. Keep going and you will succeed.

@@look4light For some reason I feel much better knowing you have lots of crumbled tries on your studio floor. Do you have any on-line workshops?

Beautiful work! I was curious about which shade of Winsor Blue that you were using (red or green?). I’m also assuming that it’s Winsor & Newton. Thank you for sharing your talent!
@look4light Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your interest in my watercolours. Apologies for the late reply. The Winsor Blue is a red shade. I sometimes mix Winsor Blue with Prussian Blue, tones it down.

This is a great video! Technics are so gentle yet produce very powerful results What type of brush are you using when starting to paint? It looks pointed and round
@look4light Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your positive response. The brush that you are mentioning is a sable brush. Great brush for holding lots of paint. They are a little pricey but the benefits are gtreat.

Hi John a year ago yiu said not to buy animal hair but today you say buy it. I am confused
@look4light Жыл бұрын
You are right, I did say that. And as I experiment with a variety of bushes and palette knife etc. I have found materials that work for me. And now, I am using hair brushes because the sythetic brushes are not performing. The chinese brush you see me use is goat hair. They come in a variety of sizes. Not expensive so I would suggest you try various sizes. There are two other brushes you see me use; a 1 inch sable and a fine long tip(1" in length) sable. All hold good amounts of water. As artists, we must try new materials, learn to fail as we go. I hope this helps.

@look4light Жыл бұрын
Hi Peggy. Big thank you for all your interest in my watercolour paintings. And, for your interest in my paint brush collection. I will follow up with a detailed discription of all the brushes I use, which isn't many. One common theme with my brushes, they are all animal hair, not synthetic. The hair brushes hold more water. I will follow up shortly.

Can you tell me how you stop the water from drying out before finishing your work. Love your art.
@look4light Жыл бұрын
Hi Lynne. I use alot of water when mapping out my design. The more water you use, the longer the drying time. You should experiment with the amount of water you use. Plus, use a good quality paper. Check out this tutorial, it will give you a better understanding of my process. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJ3ZloVrhqegn80
