I am mesmerized and even paralyzed by your painting style. Like so many others who have commented, it’s an abstract style that I can adapt to my own. Thank you for posting such beautiful videos and tutorials. I watch everyone.

Margary, thank you for your encouragement. I believe the spontaneous flow of the watercolour has memorizing qualities. I never get tired of the reaction between water and watercolour pigment.

Hello A B. Thank you for commenting on my videos and raising awareness of the need for me to communicate my colour palette as I use them throughout the videos. I have, in more recent videos displayed my palette prior to starting the demonstration. But hearing your needs, I will work on a structure. Over the past 2 years, due tto the pandemic, my priorities have shifted away from my art. But recently I have been finding new inspiration to continue with my watercolours. Stay tuned.

Sencillamente maravilloso........ es una armonia de formas y color que te van transportando a un viaje de los entidos. Muchas gracias por compartirlo. Yo estoy empezando con la acuarela y me empapo de todos los videos de los mejores pintores. Ojala algun dia llegue a pintar y manifestar asi.

I'm fairly new to watercolor, and focused on mastering basics, but this was the most inspiring video I've watched (and I've watched a lot!). I almost forgot to breath while watching it. My biggest challenge is not technique but what I call imagination, what to paint? I feel like it is something just beyond my grasp, and this may very well be the form of expression it takes. Heading to look at your other videos. Thank you for sharing your vision and art, I know it will help me on my journey to more personal expression.

Hi Kristen, Thank you for your response. Watercolor is one the most frustrating AND rewarding mediums of all that I work with. When I first started watercolor painting, I would apply a very wet base to the watercolor paper and add the watercolor paint to it and watch how the watercolor pigment would react. I would also lift the paper at an angle to make the color flow within the wet patch. This is a great exercise to do as it give you a sense of how the water and pigments react with each other. As you can see from my paintings, I reduce what I see into simple blocks of shapes. I find this technique forces me to use less brush strokes. What you don't see in my videos is all the disasters I create before the one featured in the videos. The most important thing is to have fun.

Hi Tania, Thank you for commenting on my watercolour painting. 👍 My colour palette is simple. I try not to overwhelm myself with too many colours. Here is a list of the common colours, mixing to create secondary palette. BLUE: Winsor Blue & Prusiian Blue. YELLOW: Cadmium Yellow & Yellow Ochre. WARM TONES / BROWNS: Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber & Burnt Sienna. RED: Cadmium Red. BLACK: Ivory Black. This last colour is not needed but I use it from time to time. Olive Green. All these watercolour paints are from the Winsor & Newton line. I use a specific Winsor & Newton line called Professional. These colours are intense BUT expensive. Getting started I would highly recommend a cheaper set of water colour paints. The palette I have listed above will be the same with other brands. Have FUN with your paintings and remember, not every painting is a masterpiece. My studio floor is littered with lots of failures. Those failures are my learning ground😃

I love the way you add and then take away color. I have to ask: what is that small brush you are using?
@look4light3 жыл бұрын
Hi Leah. Big thank you for your interest and comments about my watercolour paintings. The small thin brush is sable hair. The natural hairs capture a lot of water and also have the ability to remove water from the painting. Most of my brushes are synthetic, I buy all kinds brushes and experiment with them.

I love the result! But in between it was almost painful, when you put the colours on the paper...I thought why does he do that? But then it changed...the light came back and it was like a relief...
@look4light5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Traudel Wolf for your positive comments. I understand your comment about your painful experience. Watercolour is a medium, where the artist's painting can go from a great experience to a total disaster in a few brush strokes. My studio floor is littered with them😭.

Hi David, thanks for taking the time to respond to my channel. And yes, you are correct, anyone can express their vision on paper no matter what kind of artist material they use. I experiment with all kinds of watercolour papers and paints. You must share some of your art, would be great to see how you work in the watercolour medium.
