My Pa was from Mullan and he died a year ago and I had not been there since 69. Wanted to go this year but life got in the way. So thanks from Daniel son of Jerry.

I hope they leave Burke the way it is. I know they say they do it for pollution but they just get rid of all the amazing history

So great that you posted this (these) no matter how….less than perfect you seem to be saying it is. I’m from New York City and I travel, but the’s no chance I’m going to see this place or learn about it. You help peopke visit places without visiting them.

1:30 in the morning I ran around and partially grew up in the Burke area ran over around the mountains up in that area. I even swam in the book pool when I was a young man it’s nothing like it was when I was younger but thanks for filming the footage that you did.

Thank you for your videos - I have been looking through them as I try to find more from my family who was there in the late 1800s to very early 1900s. My 2x Great-Grandfather, 2x Great Grandmother and their kids (including my great-grandmother) along with some of the Levinger siblings of my 2x great-grandmother were there. I don't have any pictures from back then but I just spotted the store of my 2x Great Uncles the Levinger Bro's store on your video. One of my Levinger uncles was also the postmaster there for years while my 2x Great-grandfather was also a postmaster in nearby Gem for a short while.

I have no connection with Wallace, or indeed North America, but I enjoy such history recorded. I was surprised to see a pipe band on a parade..... Was there a Scottish connection to Wallace, apart from the name?

Hi .. sorry to say the claim about the area being the richest Silver and Lead location in the World is very inaccurate. It doesn’t rate in the World top 100

Love your videos. Grew up in the Coeur 'd Alene, Idaho. Have traveled often to Wallace and surrounding areas. Does anyone remember, just outside of Wallace, going toward Burke...those buildings and huge displays someone built whose theme was of Disney cartoon characters? Kitschy, but fun. Glad I still have some old videos of that time. Your documentary..so well done on all levels. Thanks.

Traveled threw Wallace to take a look at what is left of Burke on highway 4, stopped at one of the info signs about the history of the valley. Seen a smaller sign next to it saying to stay out of water, so not raise dust and wash hands. They say their is a lot of contamination from the bad mining practice in the area from the turn of the century.

The Coeur d’Alene hardware shut its doors in 1974 not 1964 as stated in this video. my father was the manager who took over the Coeur d’Alene hardware in 1963 he was Rodney C Foster. He lead the company through bankruptcy and a merger with Union ironworks in Spokane Washington. In 1970 he He left the Coeur d’Alene hardware and incorporated F & H mine supply. He took many of the mining equipment accounts to F&H mine supply.

Simply amazing. I found my long lost great grandfather in Wallace Idaho via Ancestry. He’s buried in a miner’s cemetery there, I have his death certificate dated 1925. Glad to finally be able to see things through his eyes.
