AGCO bought lely, so no. Vermeer claims they are still working on it, but won't say anything else. It has been 10 years.

Hard to believe farmers could actually afford to buy new machinery like 50 years ago. I'm 35-40 and farming and have bought nothing new that cost's more than $2,500-$3,500 range.

Front rake would be far better and more efficient - no driving on on the crop.

I’d rather have the cash that it take to buy a set up like that.Vermeer be my last choice for a baler. Look at all the used equipment sellers you’ll see several used Vermeer balers for sale.

You have to look at the big picture Robert. If you have lots of used Vermeer in your area, then you had lots of new Vermeer balers in your area. I'm still using a 505L and it runs perfect. A couple bearings, chain tension idler sprocket and a replaced #60 chain or two over a couple decades of use isn't bad in my book. Oh yeah, a couple times of resplicing the belts too.

Vermeer has always been very innovative when it comes to bakers,however they have had their share of misses ,the auto weave comes to mind.

I JUST SEEN YOUR VIDEO, i restored one with a 300 Ford gas engine had factory air twine I put a hydraulic system to run a Steffen bale accumullater..and had a bale preservative tank on the side I I think it when to New Holland Pennsylvania I think the man who bought it used to build them for a Is New Holland and was collecting them. I was wondering if it was still going.

3-4 high is fine, if you go any higher you'll start to get compression. Depends on bale density also. This was some junk erosion hay that was going to be spread out within a few days so it didn't matter.

Vicon Fastbale and Krone Ultima are both mashines which run in Europe for a couple of years now in any kind of condition, I think, the vermeer would allso performe quiet well
