I love my Milwaukee Pro Press! And if you're a home owner, you're clearly spending the money on copper over pex, so really why would you NOT buy a cordless power pro press tool? I really don't know who the market is for the manual version. Charlesgarrity has a good point, using it as a backup.

Not only about the money it's easier to install meaning a lot of d DIY can use it It's very resistant to freezing and it's a lot cheaper than copper which as you've pointed out yourself requires a lot more equipment and expertise plumbers love copper because job security most people don't know how to work with copper plumbers do so they're more likely to get more work from copper than they are from pecks which a DYI with a little bit of experience can fix it themselves as long as it isn't too severe

The comment on chlorine degrading because the body is absorbing it is not 100% accurate. It is not only heat, as others have expressed, that is degrading the chlorine. There are thousands of strains of bacteria and other contaminants on the human skin that are also degrading the chlorine. Only if you are extremely dehydrated would you absorb much of the chlorine.

There is a HUGE problem here in the fact that there has to be a better solution to protect and reward tradesmen and company owners for standing up and doing the right thing @2:43 you show how big of a problem in the industry this is. Particularly when an employee who is at the mercy of the owner (and is just trying to feed his family and keep his job) is the only person here that loses either way in a situation like this. It seems like he is punished for following the owners instructions or choosing to be honest and have integrity for not following the owners instructions because it's not right and isn't to code and ends up fired because there are too many other guys waiting to take his place that will do it the wrong way no questions asked for a paycheck. It's a lose lose situation for the regular tradesmen with integrity who often don't own their own company and will likely face repercussions (like the ones in this video) for either following or challenging/not following the owners instructions. It's easy for us to sit here any say "I'll always do the right thing and to code" when your not the guy who is living paycheck to paycheck and your job is at the mercy of the owner and his instructions. Like I said; there has to be a better overarching solution, one that ensures both owners and employees are rewarded and protected for doing the right thing. This is true especially for the trades, as this type of "quick & cheap corner cutting work" seems like it's becoming a larger and larger issue these days. There are way to many crooked companies that operate like this which ends up corrupting the whole next generation.

I used this 2 years ago on a fitting that separated in the wall of the shower faucet. I couldn't sweat it because of where the original owner inserted the line. Put the glue on the end of the pipe, inserted in the fitting and rotated. Let sit and it STILL holds today. Glad I found this back then and people should do as you said and keep an emergency bottle in their house. GREAT VIDEO, thanks

Here I am up at 5am(I don't work till 4pm)researching trade jobs for an idea as to what I want to get into. I'm sick of working retail and not moving past the store, and I'm panicking because I'll be 35 this year and don't have anyone but myself to rely on so I gotta move move move. I'd like to be on the right path before I hit my 40's. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Even if the fumes aren't enough to set off the detectors (assuming that they are working in the 1st place) there are still fumes! And fumes aren't good for a healthy person let alone someone with any kind of breathing problem.

Self-affirmation that you're doing well, that you didn't die of carbon monoxide... It's really blind luck. Mother plays Russian roulette with her family. There are some interesting rules in the USA. In my country, only qualified professionals registered by the Ministry of Industry can handle gas appliances, gas pipes, and gas appliances. An accident always happens in such a way that a circumstance changes in one case out of 1,000 times. I wouldn't risk it costing my family their lives.

I wanna get into trades so bad but I have no connections and no education 😭 I have an opportunity to work in a tire shop tho, if I get hired, I would like to use that experience to progress into a mechanic apprenticeship and eventually move onto plumbing... Guys, does my game plan sound smart? Be brutally honest if you have to, I need some sorta guidance to get into trades, my main targets are mechanics and plumbing Edit: I also wouldn't mind HVAC, I live in Texas and I know they make bank here in the summer
@RogerWakefield5 сағат бұрын
You don't need connections or an education, that's what's great about the trades. I only had a high school diploma. Call around to companies that are doing both Plumbing & HVAC and see if they are hiring any helpers or parts/warehouse runners. That'll get you in the door and get you familiar with the parts. Not that your plan is bad, but why do mechanical if you wanna do plumbing? Don't waste your time on that. Try to get into plumbing now! I hope this helps, and keep me updated on your journey!

@RogerWakefield that's because I don't know anything about cars and I am very ashamed of it... I just want to learn the basics without having to go to school like changing tires and under the hood maintenance, I had no one to teach me growing up so I'm just learning dad things on my own sorry about that lol

Nothing wrong with that! If you really wanna work on cars go the automotive route instead. Whatever you will enjoy doing every day

The problem with a whole house chlorine filter is it leaves the water pipes on the house side of the filter vulnerable to bacteria. Chlorine levels in Municipal water supplies are strictly monitored for safe and effective chlorine levels. Chlorine needs to remain in the water supply system up until the point it is dispensed for cooking or drinking. Think about the hundreds of millions of humans who have been drinking chlorinated water since 1897. A chlorine filter on the water tap for drinking water or on the refrigerator water dispenser are the best option. Those type filters are much easier to maintain and are more likely to be changed at appropriate intervals.

That's not a bad idea, but our vision is that with this set up you can have 2 plumbers working the same time on the same equipment. You should've seen the length before we took out the compressor! We shortened the weight and length by 15%

I wonder if the grim/grease/buildup/hair has an effect on it. it's a chemical reaction to break down those materials, and with any chemical reaction comes heat. add heat to the pipes over time might do more damage than clean pipes just sitting in draino for 6 months.

Tankless?! Are you smoking? Plumber from New Jersey here if you have a natural draft water heater like the good old days you’re the only one still making hot water during a power outage! Roger I love you and that handsome mustache but you have some explaining!

Tankless aren't great for every region of the US I get that, but they are great for down here!
@AstrnautedСағат бұрын
@ hahah I’m only busting your chops most smart home owners run a generator with it as well if they can afford the tankless so the issue is pretty null. The only actual issue to be noted that we have up here that isn’t ver mitigable even with the recirc pump models or adding a recirc line is the GPM in the winter! You’re the best Roger as a 28 year old plumber I owe you and others that did their due diligence and fiduciary responsibility an ode!

Buddy, I think you forgot about the refrigerated foods, and the grocery store stores that require they refrigerant. As an HVAC tech going to school, HVAC is better than plumbing because food is a necessity rather than plumbing. In today’s society, we need refrigeration because of the type of foods that we have. You can live without plumbing because you can go do your business outside and take a shower in a lake.
@RogerWakefield21 сағат бұрын
Good point, but I think you’re overlooking the importance of safe water for sanitation for a mass population...you're reasoning is great for off grid...what about NY or LA?

thanks MrWakefield, great demo!! i'm a house owner, and learned to sweat pipes from a buddy in the business, so far i i've swapped out old wall radiators with slant fin and sweated all of them, I have left a kitchen, living room and a 12x12 bedroom that i over installed the radiator, used 2 6ft's which will be removing 1, this spring i'll be on those project's. was researching options other than sweating pipes again, this demo you made for us helped out. the battery type is a little out of my price range since after this project my house radiators is complete, but who knows right. I'm now willing try that $100 manual type hydraulic tool, i'll leave a post on the result. thanks again

+1 on the tankless preparation. Also, in a new build, consider adding dedicated recirculation return lines on at least some of the more distant hot water fixtures. This way, you can make use of built in recirc. pumps in some of the tankless units to reduce wait times for hot water. I did a tankless retrofit and by selecting a lower output condensing unit, I was able to make use of the existing gas line and meter. I had initially leaned toward getting the highest capacity heater but then realized the added cost of upgrading the gas. I've been more than happy with a 120,000 BTU tankless for the last 8 years. It's more than paid for iteself in that time. I'm planning on picking up a 2nd heater to have on hand as California is planning to ban the sale of new gas water heaters by the end of the decade. If my old heater fails, it'll be a 30 minute swap out as all the fittings will be in the exact same place.
