Yes, the bureau labor of statistics only goes by the standard 40 hours of week. If we all included overtime, commission, and bonuses, it wouldn’t make much of a difference anyways but inflate the numbers of every occupation. A doctor or white-collar job already starting at $100K would just be inflated to $400K.

It's never too late to join a trade. I literally new someone in their 60's who had just gotten into plumbing when I was in...there is no age cap..
@jaden58605 күн бұрын
Journeymen at my union make $53.60 an hour (almost $84 an hour including benefits). Whenever I look up the average wage a trade makes I always get these low end numbers. With a bit of digging you can find out what they ACTUALLY make. It’s a shame because anyone curious about getting into the trades will think it’s not worth it because all you see is “$50k-$60k” (not bad money, but not as high as what we all hear).

Im looking to get into plumbing in the Birmingham Alabama area i found a jatc center UA local 91 putting an application in and tips on getting in or is there any tests I have to take
@LindseyM9912 күн бұрын
Helps if you know someone . There’s gonna be a math test or aptitude test . Call up there & ask what kind of test you have to take to get in . Ask what kind of math if it’s a math test . During interview say you’re a fast learner & quick with fractions ( a lot of journeyman will respect you if you can do fractions quick in your head )

In 2025 I can't believe I'm still seeing a lot of these trades jobs starting at $25 an hour and they want tools and experience. Meanwhile Target, Amazon and even McDonalds offers the same pay, better benefits and working conditions. Good luck attracting more people to this industry...
