30yrs old and was just laid off from a finance job right before Thanksgiving I took back when I was 21. Dreaded going in everyday as I'm not the type who likes sitting behind a desk but it paid the bills and I fell for the carrot they dangled in front of me even though it always got yanked away at the last second. Been spending the last week applying for pluming apprenticeships and just found your channel. Absolutely love your energy and got my sub. Most of my friends think I'm crazy not going back and finding some boring bank job but I'm really looking forward to "starting over" as I've been calling it.

Me too I’m 26 lost my bookkeeping job of 4 years. But I want to use my energy and become a skilled tradesmen. I just applied as a carpenter helper but I want to find my way into plumbing. I’d love to do the plumbing for my future family’s home.

There are many great plumbing schools in the US - I can't recommend one specifically because I don't know where you plan on living, but would recommend doing some research on the type of schooling you'd like.

Roger, idk if youll see this, or if youre able to answer. Im in an area where you need to work to be an apprentice, but need licensure to work. Im not sure on the quality of the union in my area, its expensive, but its more straightforward to me than how the trade schools work and would get me started and licensed hopefully. Do you recommend i use the union? Should i buy tools and study math before i start? Im already trying to study appliances, at least the basics

Go union ask about those questions at the interview. Learn what fittings are called and sizes

Roger I really enjoy your videos. Thinking of doing a career change. After doing personal training for so many years Thinking of transitioning to plumbing...my only concern wonder if I'd get looked at as being too old since I'm 36. Thoughts?

36 is still young!! There is no age cap to get into a new trade or career....start whenever you want! You'll love it, and I hope it works out for you
