There’s definitely something strange going on gpu utilization is only at 75% at times and frames dipping below 60. Some sort of optimization issue somewhere. Especially where changing the settings makes little to no difference. I’ve seen the standard 6900xt hit over around 100fps pretty solidly at 1440p. Same CPU

My game starts stuttering and full on freezing when i zoom in a little at week 200-300 similar population... nothing at start. same gpu but ryzen 5 2400g cpu... is the cpu a bottleneck and would it be enought to just upgrade that and the rest later?

try deleting the config folder at Users\User\AppData\Local\11bitstudios\Frostpunk2\Steam\Saved and then launch the game again, that fixed it for me. There is also a very detailed video from an indian guy on youtube where he goes further into depth of other possible solutions.

The 6gb vram 1060 is a legend, makes the 3gb version look absolutely garbage even more in 2024.

I'm actually surprised. GOW ports to PC are really miraculous. They're some of the best optimized games I've played, of not the best (of modern ones at least).

If you have 144hz monitor turn on Fluid Motion Frames Generation on AMD software and you will get even more fps

Why does the frame rate drop so much below 60? the recommended gpu is a gtx 1650, which is slightly weaker than an rx 570/580. But for some reason the performance on gtx 1650 and 1060 is consistently good without any drops.. why does amd users need to suffer

Usually fsr3 frame generation works on all GPUs if it is built into the game.

@@lucioperezmas Honestly, I don't know. By the way, FG worked for me with RX 580 in Ghost of Tsushima. But it doesn't work in Frostpunk 2, for example.

Hey, I tried the first 2 settings but there is still a lot of stuttering. Any tips ? Am I missing something ?

The game precompiles shaders for the first 10-15 minutes. This happens in the background and is visible in the lower right corner of the screen. During this time, stuttering may occur. Perhaps your problem is related to this.

@@GT_Benchmarks That wasn't the issue, but when I downgraded the AMD driver to previous version it began to run much more smoothly. Any idea why that might happen ?

Probably ur graphics driver need to be updated or changed sometimes its the gpu drivers causing low fps and its different for almost every gpu urs is 6650 xt maybe try installing another driver?

On the new drivers tou have can you overclock your gpu? I'm on 23.10.01.41 the last i can oc my card rx 580 8 gb. All the newer ones i get crashes. Ive seen other talk about this but i havent looked up any new drivers in a while

Even without frame gen it gives similar performance to 2018. But I think the fps will drop massively in realms like savartlfheim and asgard.
