Hey Mikey, local supply houses should sell UV injection kits for refrigeration systems so you can go back later with the ultraviolet light and see where the leak is coming from.

Hi Mike, Would it make sense to have injected some UV Dye while you were charging ? Might make finding the leak a faster prospect in the Spring, but might also just make the next guys job easier if they don't follow up with you... Are the inside units flare fittings also ?

In 2015, Lennox Industries Inc. settled a class action lawsuit over defective evaporator coils in its air conditioning and heat pump systems. The lawsuit, Thomas v. Lennox Industries Inc., alleged that Lennox knew about the problem but did not address it. Lennox denied all claims but agreed to the settlement to avoid further litigation.

Up here in Maryland most companies won’t mess with R22 gas and go. My company getting $350 a lb. I’ve put more R22 this yr then last 5-10 yrs. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink. $150 a lb for 410 you can’t only do what customers want. Some will only realize the truth after wasting thousands then still have to replace at end on day. Then look for the cheapest guy in town to do replacement. Then call back a yr later when it’s not working. LOL It’s a business at end of day not a charity! Keep getting paid SiR
@aks200028 сағат бұрын
30 lb. R22 ( legit seller and not the shadowy ones ) are widely available online for approx. $900 , which is $30 / lb. You can get it cheaper thru local sources some times. My HVAC guy let me buy it for $500 from a local seller , when he fixed a leak in my old but trusty R22 system just few months back here in Bay Area. He works by hourly rate, which was not cheap but well worth it particularly with his high level of professionalism and integrity.
@dstevens3798 сағат бұрын
Well my hats to you Sir you got your R22 Fixed that since 2020 you can’t buy a dry outdoor unit and charge it with R22. Hopefully it lasts another 2 decades. At the end of day you will be replacing that system but you saved some money to kick can down road.
@aks200026 сағат бұрын
@@dstevens379 Yes, I am already on the way to replace my R22 systems. I planned to add multiple single zone heat pumps - one at a time over 2-3 years and existing system will allow me to have that breathing space. Reason I commented was to make people aware that you can still find R22 at reasonable rate if you look around. Bigger challenge is to find a HVAC guy who is willing to touch such a system.

I just worked in a Fujitsu in Boston same deal it has a leak , can u charge it while it’s running in heat mode , I could not find a bypass port , but I noticed or your gauges the low side was high and high side was low , usually heats pumps in heat mode they read the same , hence the bypass port .

You need to add a new service that you offer... Battery and or smoke detector replacement. How do all these people leave the damn things beep all the time. I get annoyed just watching these videos with them beeping. Great up-sell advantage for home safety. Can check date on detector and replace if over 5-7 years old. Also check CO detector, not sure if there are any rules in your area requiring them in all houses. Would be great opportunity, for those you can get the 10year version that have built in lithium batteries and are just a throw away at the end of 10 years. Pretty small boxes and can carry them on the truck, along with the try of 9V batteries... 🤠👍

My Mitsubishi is good to about 10F here in New England . After that the electrical usage jumps from about 800-1100 watts to around 2100 watts. Not efficient. Pellet stove is my savior for those really cold days. I am sure the technology will get better in time but 0F is brutal on mini split heat pumps. Geothermal is probably a better choice in my area.
@geekgirl9139 сағат бұрын
I have a Mitsubishi and running it below like 35° is more expensive than using my steam boiler, which is 225K BTUs... We used close to 2,800 kWhs in one month while waiting to replace said boiler. All that and we were still cold. Nothing heats like hydronic heating.
