Where I live it usually alternates between rain and snow and hail, so, if it rains what are you going to do? It would be a hell of a situation if you're sleeping in the middle of the night and it starts raining.

One very important question is do you know JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR?
@ncscooterz3 күн бұрын
You can get to the fill plug from under the front and don’t have to remove the winch. As for the front bumper, it would depend on your front bumper.

Why were you smelling the wood?
@JoshuaGammon17 күн бұрын
In the winter the wood is frozen so it's hard to tell if it's wet. But you can smell the wet in the wood even when frozen. Then you know if it's going to be good to burn or not.

My usual reality check - he’s got all this modern gear except for the fire stick. He should carry two bic lighters. Save cold hands and a lot of discomfort getting kindling to light immediately. I’ve been camping like that and believe me, me butane is best.
@JoshuaGammon17 күн бұрын
lic lighter are highly un reliable in wet cold conditions and a butane stove doesn't keep you warm or dry you off.

This is probably my favorite shelter I’ve seen so far. I would build the side walls up the rest of the way to prevent rain and snow blowing in, and I think you could build the far wall up a few logs more, I know you need some opening there as that’s the “chimney” essentially, but I think you could do 3 or 4 logs higher. And some kind of door so animals don’t get in
@JoshuaGammon17 күн бұрын
yes I could build it up and be ok with the smoke getting out. My idea to keep it this low was so from seating on the bed I can see straight out into the woods. you don't really get that perspective from the video. Cheers and thanks for the great tips.

I don’t understand most of you campers. You pack a bunch of stuff, hike a ways out, takes time to set up camp for one night. I understand you may have work or whatever next day but do it when you can spend 2-3 days. Relax & enjoy all your hard work!!!

Hey, you are right. But I have a full time job, a family. I go out on a Saturday morning and come back sunday. It all the time I have but it's better than not going at all. But yes I would love to spend more time if I had it.
