blender does n't bake out metallic either and you basically have to turn off metallic or the bakes come out weird or black at least simple bake can do this which is cool

I Just learned the main reason I have this issue. It's because I back out of the extrude tool a lot. Apparently once you create the vertices with "E" they are there til you delete them even if you don't actually extrude.

Excellent tutorial, just like every other tutorial or quick tip I’ve seen of your to-date. I noticed a minor niggle at the end of this video where you set material mode key frames. You set the key frames for the transition location and then you set the key frames for the variable transition spread, which messed up the intended transition start and end positions. Luckily, it’s an easy fix that can be achieved by going back to the transition location keyframes and tweaking the position values.

Now I just want you to imagine that I get various configurations of procedural materials (water, fire, ice, wood, etc.), give them suggestive names, assign them a fake user, and then save the configuration. Now I can create any object and assign any procedural material to it with just one click.

(Moved in new Blender version.) (Thanks to @Hellfire7675 for explaining where they moved it in the new Blender version.) (I replied with this and I'm posting it as a separate comment also.) On the left side, by "File/Edit/Render/etc... " under that is "Object Mode", click the down arrow and choose "Edit Mode" Now go back to the right side where the "Overlays" is (the 2 circles) and to the right will be a new dropdown menu that shows a square with a top right corner being solid color square. That is the new menu where they put the measurements. (If you are still having trouble understanding, just toggle between "Object Mode" and "Edit Mode" while looking on the right side of the screen and you will see a few things appear and disappear. It's one of those options.)

are these measurments directly relational to real world measurements? I had an stl created in one program that came out to 10 1/2 inches but in blender, when imported, it came out to over 1000 inches.
