Finally, someone has addressed this issue in a concise and practical way-thanks a lot! I parented the children of each collection to an empty and asked ChatGPT to write a script to automate the process with the follow prompt: "Write a Blender 4 script that iterates through each collection in the scene. For each collection, locate the first child of type 'EMPTY' and set the collection’s instance_offset to the world position of this empty."

Can't tell you how irritated this situation has made me. I pretty much gave up on adding certain collection items to the asset library. Then you come along and show me right where the relevant controls are and what we're doing with them. Thanks!
