Yeah I didn't really buy many of the older Architecture sets as they were quite small and fiddly, the past few years they have got much more substantial.
@foreverfornever1124Күн бұрын
Me and my girl absolutely love the look of this! She having been to Italy for dance on many occasions, it means more to her of course. She had the old retired set on her "to buy" list when we started doing Lego together, but that one goes for crazy prices. Now we can happily wait to get this one that looks so much more improved and colorful. Although I didnt expect it to be redesign for Architecture. I figured if we ever got another, it would be in the Icons theme, same as the Eiffel Tower, going from Architecture to Icons in a massive and detailed way. KInda glad its not the case because I know that could easily be a $500 set haha
@TheDyslexicGeak23 сағат бұрын
Oh this is a massive upgrade on the original. I do like how much more ambitious these Architecture sets have got these past few years. I just wish Lego would make more than one a year, although it does look like there maybe a 3k+ piece set coming later in the summer, wonder what that turns out to be.
@foreverfornever112422 сағат бұрын
@TheDyslexicGeak yeah Architecture I suppose, isn't as popular as it may be used to be. They haven't made a new City Skyline set in a while, and they only seem interested in really iconic places around the world like Himeji Castle and Notre Dame. But I agree the set line is amazing and has made a bad set in a long time. The 3k piece set has gotta be something iconic as well, maybe even something they've done before and are redoing like they did with Trevi Fountain. I think Big Ben or the Sydney Opera House would be awesome additions in that size piece count

@ In regards for saving money, Lego can certainly be a huge money sink. I personally have a budget that I can spend each month and I stick to it. Maybe don't buy the latest sets upon release and wait for an inevitable sale that most sets get after a couple of months. That's easier said than done of course. As for starting a channel, the best advice I can give is cover what you enjoy about Lego and just be yourself, don't try an imitate anyone else. Just turn on the camera and see where things take you🙂

The Turing design uses all existing pieces. At most it would require a large sticker sheet because I doubt they’d print the number pieces. So not that expensive. Sure it’s big for a technic set but it doesn’t have any IP attached like any of the supercar sets. The Beetlejuice house would be expensive because of all the new figures required, but the house would likely appeal to a wider consumer market than the Turing machine so 🤷 And they did do a Hocus Pocus house and I think Beetlejuice would be more appealing than that to most. Music and Jewellery is too similar to existing or previously released Modulars to really be considered IMHO. I agree brickheadz are unlikely. If anything they would be just a regular brickheadz set and not an Ideas set after all they have done Pixar brickheadz before with Wall-e. 🤷 The lake house is cool, but fits more with the Bricklink Designer program than as an Ideas set. Still a little niche. The microscope is nice but unlikely IMHO as it just doesn’t have enough appeal. Summit station agin is more likely as a BL designer program set than an Ideas one. I think the Bob Ross is most likely out of those so far, reminds me of the Van Gogh set crossed with the space art set. The princess bride looks great, and given that they’ve done a Goonies (another popular eighties film) set I see this as being quite likely. Mystery Shack? Unlikely. They’ve done Winnie the Pooh (or at least the Disney version), so I could see this being chosen. I’d love them to do a Muppet theatre, especially as so many have already done it effectively by using the CMFs and modifying the Friends theatre set but that’s precisely why I don’t see this one being selected. 🤔🤷🤣 I don’t know, Gizmo is clearly popular. Plus it’s a buildable one and TLG loves doing those. I mean they have 2 buildable Simba sets! I could see them doing this! Cliff side house? Nope. Not gonna happen. Magical books? Nope, unlikely IMHO. Feels too much like a Harry Potter set. Discworld- unlikely again for much the same reason. Again modular hospital, also unlikely. Same as the previous mystery shack, unlikely. Especially as it looks very similar to the A Frame cabin 🤷 Howls moving castle is cool but….🤷 Italian Villa, unlikely. Modular library too boring looking and too many library ideas already! 😂 Ski lodge is cool but again belongs more in the BL designer program than Ideas IMHO. Woodland wildlife looks good but it’s too similar to the creator 3 in 1 animal sets, just with more side builds. Unlikely. Drill dozer looks cool, but too niche. Although I could see a lot of people modding it. Wild West train station? BL designer program stuff again. 😂 Everyone would love a new Simpsons set but two in a row? Hmmm… The medieval Tavern? Another BLD program set more likely. Sherlock Holmes? I dunno I think that’s more likely than most. It’s a modular yet also an IP, but a free IP. I would’ve ranked this higher than a Twilight set and we are getting one of those so 🤷 Capybara? Another 3in1 without the 3in1. Unlikely. Clue/do? Nope, unlikely. Polar Express? Possible but I wouldn’t hold my breath Commerce and camping trip both unlikely. NO TAYLOR SWIFT! Taskmaster would be awesome, but Greg would need to be a bigfig! 😂 Too adult and too specific to be a set IMHO Helicopter is good but again niche and looks too militaristic to qualify. Bobs burgers? Unlikely. Frogs are possible given the Kingfisher set. Possible. PlayStation 2? Nope. All the other gaming system recreations have been of ones not being made or sold anymore, but I think PlayStation is too new (relatively) to fit that category. If anything PlayStation they’d do the first not the second. Card shuffler is awesome but too close to gambling to qualify. Jumanji would be great, but unlikely. Workshop is again BLDP not Ideas. I could see them doing the grinch. Betta? Nope.
@TheDyslexicGeak6 күн бұрын
Fantastic summary, thanks for that. So many good designs this time round. I do wonder with so many designs now getting 10k votes I do wonder if Lego will change this number at some point. Must be a nightmare for Lego having to pick just 2, maybe 3 designs. I do get the feeling that any Medieval type sets have a better chance in Bricklink but would be nice for Lego to select one again to give more people the chance to get such a set, the Bricklink sets are of course limited to such a small window
@foreverfornever11246 күн бұрын
Beetlejuice has a good chance. We've gotten back to back Halloween themed IP sets with Hocus Pocus and Nightmare before Christmas. I think its about time a Bob Ross set was chosen. This one is pretty creative and I like its designed as a sort of studio diorama and as a modular display set. Godzilla is an IP I think Lego would consider for a theme in the near future, even just brickheadz. Its gotten a lot of worldwide appeal over the last decade between US media, and its revival in Japan back in 2018 with Shin Godzilla. Not sure if they would go with this US Monsterverse version for Ideas but it would show that Lego is indeed interested.
@TheDyslexicGeak6 күн бұрын
Yeah I think its kinda now or never for the Beetlejuice, its definitely in the zeitgeist at the moment. Oh a Godzilla Brickhead would be a great set. You just never know what license Lego will use next.

@@TheDyslexicGeak yeah I agree, Lego has reached out across many IP's now, especially in the Ideas theme. Lego definitely seems to be riding on th popularity wave of video games right now

My two picks would be the Medieval tavern and Wild West Train station to go with the bricklink series 4 train. Although like you I don’t believe either set with be chosen as an ideas set. If Lego can get the Taylor Swift IP that would be a no-brainer for them (not for me but her billion fans that apparently have no problem spending $1000 for a concert.) lol

The Medieval Tavern would be such a great choice, the Blacksmith has been gone a good while now, would be a nice successor to it. Oh the Mountain Fortress has been by far the most impressive Bricklink set, and looks so good, very nice contrast to the Lion Knights Castle. To me this is the strongest series of the 6 so far revealed. I think for sure I’ve gotta go for the Train. I’m debating on the other castle sets.
