Solid points! Stay within your budget and get it running asap. You can use a lot of parts from different Mustang generations. Many aftermarket parts look great but don't work well.

I couldn't agree more with you on the aftermarket parts point!

Oil pan, oil pan, oil pan. Get yourself a Holley oil pan. It will allow you to not run motor mount spacers, you'll have steering rack clearnace, your drive line angles will be correct, the list goes on.

Great video Brother! Very valid points on budget, planning and family! All very important to keep in mind to keep a person out of the rabbit hole and out of the dog house! 😎👊🏾

The biggest thing is cost. We all get excited till that bill adds up. I see it all the time on fb. People getting halfway done with a swap. Realizing it’s one a ton of work and 2nd not realizing the budget. All together just losing motivation. Also keep in mind, how valuable is your time. Is it worth you doing the job. Or is it better, to just let a professional shop. that does these types of things all the time handle it. Most of the time, a good shop can put things in better perspective.

I got everything sitting in the garage. I just need the time. Car just sitting there. Engine on stand. K member, headers, etc. everything is waiting to be installed. Kids got me busy. Honestly I am mad my car just sitting there. I had everything going until well. I sold my house and moved. I had to pack everything all over again. No motivation now. Mind you I already did a terminator swap. This car just sitting over a year. The problem is another house project after another. I sometimes just sit in the drivers seat and ponder.

There must be something in the air, my red GT is also still sitting in the garage with an empty engine bay waiting for me to do all of the preliminary work on it just to get the motor in. One thing I'd like to harp on that nobody adequately prepares you for is the cost of a fuel system complete from the gas tank to the injectors. Especially if you're going to run e85. If you would have told me that I'd spend between $3-4k just on a fuel system I would have told you that you're nuts. But here I am. No matter which motor you put in, if you have a HP number in mind, you will need to do all of the same things to achieve that number. Power adder, exhaust, transmission, roll cage etc. The engine isn't even 50% of doing a build CORRECTLY. There is always more, so definitely have 25% extra on hand to finish all of the things that you didn't know that you'd want or need.

Amazing how wheels are so subjective, I disagree with the #5, #3 and #1 wheels on the must have list. #5 are ok at best nothing great, 93 Cobra wheels only looks decent on cobras, I saw them on a few coupe's they look awful as do the #3 on your list. The #2 are ok nothing great. I would have the new 17" 10 holes on the list (my 90 coupe that look almost identical to the one you are showing had the 15" 10 holes...ehh but bump them up the new 17" and they look really good) and 17" Torque Thrust.

A Holley oil pan will fix that problem. Adding spacers to the motor mounts only increases the drive line angle. Most guys then add spacers to lower the k member.
