It's so fun to see you run where I lived and ran for years (Boulogne-Billancourt, Meudon, Versailles), this "pavés des gardes" climb that you had to run is a real sucker punch as you said, I am pretty sure that you'll remember it for a while.

Have been loving this series Clayton, it has helped me gain more motivation for my next build and to pencil in some runs in Switzerland at some point! Amazing run in the Olympics too! Cheers from Gold Coast, Australia

Thanks for watching! Yes, there are a lot of details to this sport, and as a pro you've got to find every percent, but at the end of the day, 90 percent of it is just running with your friends.

I have been wearing the same exact pair for the entire build except for my Boston 10K race. I do intentionally so that on race day when I pull out of fresh pear, I can feel the pop even more.

The sauna suits make it look like y'all walked off of a Missy Elliot music video shoot or are about to blow in attic insulation. In seriousness, this whole series has been wonderful. The humility and transparency of it is as beautiful as the shots of the scenery. Thanks for documenting this all! It's been hugely influential in my training and I sing the praises of this series to other runners on the daily. 🤟

How often do you use the altitude tent? Do you think it helps? Thanks.
@_Clayton_Young_
@_Clayton_Young_ 3 күн бұрын
I have been sleeping at altitude for the last couple of years. I've done some blood testing before and after my builds to track its effectiveness, and I've seen some good results. However, I don't really recommend it to anybody because there are 30 things you should be doing right before you even consider sleeping in an altitude tent.

Each nation only got 3 runners. So most of the 62 runners ranked above him wasnt running at the olympics. Ethiopa have 20 runners ranked higher than young. And kenya have 28! And like i said they can only send 3 runners per nation.

Othmane el goumri and kenenisa bekele was the only people ranked above him who he beat. The top 8, all ranked above him, and beat him. So youd imagine had the top 63 all been there hed have been closer to 60th

You two made us USA BYU fans so proud! What a great race you guys ran!. The question I hope gets answered in this series is: Did Tola break everyone when he surged, or were Clayton and Connor just cautious about covering a breakaway that far from the finish? IOW, was the difference in fitness, or experience?
@_Clayton_Young_
@_Clayton_Young_ 3 күн бұрын
That's a great question to ponder... and I am sure my answer will change with time, ur here's my gut answer. There's no doubt that Tola was crazy fit that day. I do think I could have contended for a medal if I had made the right moves, and was a little more aggressive up that last hill... but that's easy to say post race... and I am not positive I could have hung with Tola. We don't know his limit. I do think that if it was more hot and humid my chances would have gone up, and gone up drastically.
