Clayton, good morning! Peace to you. It’s been a joy to walk with and listen to you these last four months! I admire you, and want to tell you a reason for how special you are, and why I believe you deserve to be placed where you are right now. You are representing the whole U.S.A. in this event for a reason(s)…Here is what I see. Your desire to excel, prepare well, and to compete are all large. But these are found in all athletes at your level. Clayton, your experience-according to you- is made to be shared. I don’t know if you’ve stated this on camera, but it’s what you live by. It’s a joy to follow you, because you share your joy with us. I’ve seen it best when you celebrate after a race. There is an element of selflessness in you that wants others to experience the very joy you are experiencing when you succeed. This is godly and unique. You have every right to be the most enthusiastic person in the room (or on the line), if that’s what you’re feeling. May you not be swayed to the side by any fear, dear sir. May you be blessed with the strength to overcome your fears, do away with them where it serves you, and channel them into forward motion and faith where and when you need to do so. I kindly remind any believer reading: Nothing good is given to us apart from God. Nothing is granted. *Everything* is grace upon grace… Remember the first two commands Christ has given us for this short life. And remember that He said Heaven and earth will pass away, “but my words will not pass away.” Warmly, I must bring to attention here that your wife is a GEM… In my view, it is rare that a woman is so pleasantly and ardently invested in her husband’s success. Of course, this is a mark and a maker of a great man and athlete, but more simply and importantly it is the product of God’s good and perfect will for a pair. May the Lord be glorified by you two, as you see each other’s beauty made more evident each and every day. You have such a beautiful family, Clayton! @feedyourrunner The Spirit of God in you is more formidable than the flesh. Have your understanding, but His peace *surpasses* all understanding. Here’s a verse you’ve seen: “Those who hope in the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired, walk and not become weary.” Isaiah 40 One more thought- it could be good to take off social media entirely come evening. ONWARD AND UPWARD YOU OLYMPIAN, CLAYTON YOUNG!! ❤❤🫶 LOVE YOU MAN!! YEAHH! THIS IS PARIS, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sincerely, A fan and your brother in Christ ❤👋🏼😴 8/9/2024 2:07 AM CT / 9:07 AM Paris

Clayton, absolutely loving the series, and August 10th and the Olympic Marathon can't come soon enough for this running fan. You've been killing it on the workouts and, given the profile of the Olympic course, the title of one of the earlier segments, "Patience" has to be the key word for the race. Two massive hills and I have to think that whoever attacks the first one will start to make the race, but they're not the one that is going to win it. However the day goes, there are a huge number of American fans that have gotten to share your journey with you, and that is priceless. All the best and wishing great tapering in San Moritz!

9th place!!! 🎉 I shouted your name in Versailles and then got really worried you would think it was someone you knew and be disappointed...and then realized I might be overthinking things slightly 😂 You looked very strong after those initial hills

Thanks Clayton loved the series loved how you both got the results that the build suggested was possible, that doesn’t always happen. As a spectator the Paris course was epic, kudos to coaches training, had you both so dialed for that profile. Looking forward to the review. Would it be possible to do introductions of all the runners that you trained with over the build ? Were they aiming for any races? Once again thank u and your family. Now go smash a 2.05 on a flat course!
