I'll have one in my quiver this year. I'm one of those guys who usually has 3 or 4 different broadheads in my quiver and just pick whichever one I'm in the mood for.

My experience is different. I hunt a rut pinch on a ridge top. I’m facing dead east. Deer bed on that east facing ridge. Prevailing winds are west. West facing hill behind me where food is located. I wait until the sun hits the east tree tops and climb in. I can normally drop milk weed until noon and watch it rise right over the east facing slope tree tops. It damn near bulletproof…
@Chestthumperoutdoors16 күн бұрын
Thermals are very locationally dependent. The next ridge over could be opposite of what your experiencing on that ridge. Nothing here are hard and fast rules, more like generalities that you can build off of to figure more out about your areas.

Not sure if they changed metals or what but I completely disagree with you about edge retention. I will say from the factory they are not that sharp. But get the stay sharp sharping guide for this head and holy shit my guy they’re ridiculous.

Is there a poundage requirement to use these broadheads???
@Chestthumperoutdoors21 күн бұрын
Not so much a poundage requirement as an energy suggestion. More than anything its based on a look at your total over all set up. What bow, draw weight, draw length, arrow weight, arroe diameter. Its about the system as a whole.

Also I purchased five packs of nocturnals. After 1 month of shooting there were 2 that were not destroyed by hitting soft targets. (Literally the lit nock would be all the down my arrow shaft if i was lucky. Usually the clear plastic they use is just to briddle and snaps somewhere). I would call this the worst lit nock available. But thats just my experience 5x over and i shoot around 300 fps) Maybe they are a one and done concept like a mechanical. Either wayi was disappointed. Kept thinking i got a bad batch. Turned out to just be a bad material choice for the concept. I love your videos and how you go through them. Keep it up! Hoping halo makes a decent 4mm nock. Waiting to try them.
@ChestthumperoutdoorsАй бұрын
The 4mm halo is decent. Ive had good luck with it.
@williamcaffey7887Ай бұрын
We need to demand better quality and durability out of these things. I cant find a brand that makes it past target practice. Im nit even talking about micro diameter. I need 4mm now 🤦🏼♂️

The oil is the culprit. Scrub it off throughly. I mean very very very thoroughly.,..Dawn dishwashing detergent works well. I used Octagon soap too.

I feel the cord constantly gets slightly loose and raises the rest fingers a bit. Is that a me not using a tight enough knot, the rest is hard to be stable (maybe I should try Hamskea), or just the price of limb driven and cable driven is more consistent?
@Chestthumperoutdoors3 ай бұрын
Id switch what knot I use on the limb, also once you have the knot tied, take the slack out of the cord using the set screw on the rest. Also know your drop cord does have a break in period where it will stretch some. If using the correct material that will eventually stop.

These were used by my ancestors on early colonists and then again on us soldiers during the little big horn and again in the 30s during the rebellion, stone points are timeless and i will never run out, u can take my bow, arrows, KNIFE and in 3 days ill have a bow n some arrows funtional enough (and more accurate than the new bows) to reclaim my stolen goods😂😂

I purchased 175 January 2024 and they are FREAKING SHARP could be Helix seen reviews and listened . Just asking for more better thought out reviews, thx, for your input.

I'm an Allen Fan. Best Head for the Money. I shoot the 85 or 100 with Bone Breaker Points. Low Profile 1 and an 8th inch 3 blade blow throughs. You need more spin for Vented Heads. Stainless Steel is very hard and brittle. It's not something that bends. Not sure what that tip is made of. Nice looking broadhead. Most Mechanicals cause more trouble than their worth. My Crossbow blows them open leaving out. So will a Powerful Compound. Let alone poor performance on Impact. Some fly good but fail to open when They hit Major Bone. Avoid 2 Blade Mechanicals. They have Deflect Issues on Bad Angle Shots. They Hit and grab on one blade and flip the arrow outwards.(Avoidable) Depends on how the Broadhead is turned when it hits. 1 Blade 90 degrees sliding into Ribs Drags and Flips/Spins the Backend of the Arrow away from the Target. Not a Deal if the Broadhead Blades are noon and six. You may have a Waisted Shot on a quartering to you. When you Hit the Ribs Blades deploying 9 to 3. Flip Out. Issues on Steep Downward Shots work the same way.
