Yo I wanna shout out a concept often used in various forms of Counseling. It's called Cognitive Distortions. The idea is that people can have worldview barriers that prevent them from understanding reality accurately or clearly. One of these Cognitive Distortions is called "Over Generalizations". This is where someone understands reality in a black and white manner and tends to attribute truisms to categories broadly. They struggle to incorporate flexibility and nuance in their perspectives. The fact of the matter is that the majority of people have some sort of cognitive distortion they need to work through, but very few people actually think about reality through the over generalization lense. Hopefully that adds some interesting perspective on the conversation. I personally believe that fetishizing races or ethnicitys is rare and therefore not a particularly significant issue when it comes to the broader category of racism. Not saying it doesn't happen for sure. Also I know I'm inviting people to come in and bash me for this one. Anyways I absolutely welcome any exchange of thoughts and ideas. Thank you for patiently reading my long comment lol!

Unfortunately, human beings work on generalities and pattern recognition. So, since most brown and black people on average are less creative, industrious, inventive, and orderly, this perpetuates the belief and stereo types that we have in the world today. Stereo types are based on patterns that certain groups of people do, and since most brown and black people have bad patters of crime such as stealing, robbing, murdering, not orderly, lack discipline, lack self control, impulse driven and are majority not hungry to obtain knowledge to resolve their problems or reach their goals this leads to the negative outlook that other races have towards brown and black individuals.

What a lot of y’all don’t consider is that in Hispanic culture it very much goes both ways, you will be ridiculed for being too indigenous or too white. It jus depends on where you are in Mexico or America.

Latino term is a racist one used to divide us. We are Taino, Boriquan, Olmec, Arawak, Apache, Garifuna, some were raped by the Spanish, etc. Why side with the rapists and forget the indigenous black, Island Carib, etc? Because we hate ourselves and love the rapists and the white Jesus!

People using the money they earned isnt priviledge. Priviledge is unearned status. If you work and get wealthy doing so, you are actually rewarded for your merit. Calling that priviledge is a commie way of trying to attack merit based society in favor of actual priviledge based society where you have priviledged classes known as nobles or aristocrats in positions of unearned comfort and luxury. Meritocratic society, is what we have to avoid that.

I've definitely been influenced by media to try to be "more latina" & often felt not good enough or sexy enough. Past dates have asked me why I'm so white. & one time (the ONE time in my life where I was going through shit, so I was a ticking time bomb), a date actually called me Spicy Latina🤣🤦‍♀️ after I went on a rage ready to attack a random couple on the street that were saying shit at us. I'm socially anxious, so naturally quiet & reserved

I've been accused of not being latino, for not listening to latin music, being spicy, dancing salsa, not dressing sexy, not speaking with an accent... I've been shut down for having an opinion, because 'you know how firy latin women are, so basically, shut up.' I have had guys just wanting to date me, because of a fetish... Stereotypes are harmful! Everyone is different and unique ❤️ race does not equal stereotype ⛔

Excellent video. Hollywood like their Latinas like they like their Black women. Light bright and damn near white. Hollywood like their Latinas looking like they can pass for Italian , French or Russian. That’s why hispanic actresses had to go so over the top with the accent over the years. For decades you never seen a Afro Latina play a Latina. You never saw a fully indigenous women play the love interest of the main character in films.

Thank you for this video! A very few years ago I was ashamed for being yellowish-tan skinned, people would call me offensive surnames like 'Simpson' to mock my skin color 💀 and it was one of my biggest insecurities, that I hid my arms by using sweaters even on summer because I hated my brown arms. Now I really love my tanned skin and I love to take natural sun-baths in the outside (ofc I always use sunblock to prevent skin illnesses) and to embrace my beautiful skin color!

My recommendations: Monday: Morgana and Oz (R), The Male leads girlfriend (R), Tricked Into Being The Heroines Step Mother (R)(This ones really funny) Tuesday: Homesick (T), Regina Rena: To The Unforgiven (R), Flawless (R), Cierra (Paused) Wednesday: Age matters (R) Thursday: Eaternal Nocturnal (R) Friday: Saturday: Wished you were dead (R) Sunday: My Gently Raised Beast (R) Completed: Unholy Blood (R)+(S), Sirens Lament (R), Where tangents meet (R) Favorite author: There is only one I've read more then one of there books and that would be instantmiso/ The creator of Eaternal Nocturnal, Sirens Lament, and where tangents meet. R= Romance T=Thriller S=Supernatural I put only Unholy blood with an extra genre label because its extremally important to know Also my current favorite are: Eaternal Nocturnal, Homesick, Flawless. The art in the Eaternal Nocturnal is amazing and to plot is awesome+ I love romance incase you haven't realized. Trailer thingy from webtoon: The man of her dreams does exist… too bad she can’t fall asleep. When Eve is visited one night by a mysterious apparition, she finds that her chronic insomnia is miraculously cured. Meanwhile Dae, the dream eater, finds himself unexpectedly and unwillingly drawn to Eve. This can either be a dream come true or their worst nightmare. Homesick is amazing and its one of a kind, It doesn't really fall with any other books. It has a freaky aspect to it and I love the art style. Trailer thingy again: Rayne woke up with no memories of the apocalypse. Samael is just... a delinquent, who happened to find Rayne at a rooftop. They both ended up making a deal in order to survive in a world where cannibalistic monsters roam.

Finally Flawless, I recently finished, the full book isn't on webtoon. At first the art is mediocre (231 chapters in total btw) but its gets so much better by the end. The plot isn't outstanding but I personally love the character development. Plus it ties in what its like to live with a disability Recap: Sarah is a tough girl who prides herself for being independent. One day, after fending off several boys harassing her in the street, she meets Elios, a young blind man her age. She is immediately charmed by him, though he maintains an air of mystery. Has Sarah met her first love? Is everything what it seems?

Skin color is irrelevant since 'Hispanic' or 'Latino' is not a race, it is an ethnicity, today you can find Browns, Whites, Blacks, Indigenous, Asians and even Latinos of Arab descent in LATAM. But if you weren’t born in a Latin American country, if you don't know how to speak Spanish (or Portuguese, in the case of Brazil), you have no idea about the history of Latin American countries in general terms, then you are NOT Hispanic/Latino... you are simply another gringo. Nowadays it’s a trend among many Americans to call themselves Hispanic or Latino, just to appear/sound more "exotic" or interesting.. If you are an American, be proud of it. Don't try to be something you are not.

Western caucasian culture Hollywood promotes colorism staring with children until adulthood. Is called brainwashing and racism. The whiter is better. When do you see indigenous descendant people in tv or major movie industries? It's an agenda. They don't need slaves, they mind control by these tactics. They hate spiritual people, they love materials things. Extreme Capitalism. What kind of people owns, Hollywood, major movie industries, the federal reserve banks? It's deep and started with evil identities, khazars and in european caucasian mountains. Then infiltrated worldwide, like a virus. Money rules this world and they have it all. But nothing never lasts forever.

I'm sorry but a 16 years old from Massachusetts who's great-grandmother is boricua is not a latina to me. Is amazing how now everyone wants to be latina, but no one wants to come to my "3 world monkey country" and take a full bus at 6am and come home at 11pm just to be paid a minimum wage with a devalued money and then do it all over again the next day while hoping that college give you a better life. Our culture is my way of scape the hard life i have, you obviously don't have to love this or that, but I do and americans using this in a aesthetic way gets on my nerves
