Great video!! Movies like this aren't too different from high school history books that basically glossed over slavery or depicted in a way that under emphasized the atrociousness of that period in the world's history.

The Blind SIde is based on a true story. The real Michael Oher couldn't stand the movie. He wrote an autobiography titled “I Beat the Odds: From Homelessness, to The Blind Side, and Beyond” in 2011 to let people know the whole truth to his story. The original book was different from the movie as well. “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game,” had two main focuses. The first focus of Michael Lewis book was on the evolution of offensive and defensive strategy in football. It also detailed the life of Hall of Fame defensive lineman Lawrence Taylor. Michael Oher’s path to the NFL was the second focus of Lewis’ story.

Oh wow, I didn't know about that other book would love to read it. It is 10.99 on kindle. I knew it was based on a true story, but I didn't know what it was about. From watching the film I wouldn't have guessed that the book would be about that. It is crazy that they steered so far from the truth. I didn't include this in the video, but one of the reasons they did so is to create a Oscar winning film. Basically to appease to those who could vote.
