Hi Pete, hope you're well. I'm working on a documentary set in 2000 and interested in using this footage from you. Do you have an email I can reach out on? Thanks so much, Yasmin

Everything in the U.K. gets destroyed! Go elsewhere in Europe and you will see things are incorporated. We forget history, while others maintain it.

It was disgraceful that these icons of football were allowed to be destroyed. Shameful.

But someone tell me why they did this this part the tradition of Wembley stadium, Especially on F.A. Cup days.

Is it just me or is it just a coincidence, twin towers, then just one "object" or arch afterwards? Got to love the symbolism effect. 🤷♂Man I've been watching far too much YT! 🤪

Bringing down the 'twin towers' like at 9/11. There should have been an occult meaning of doing this

Disgusting that anyone allowed the twin towers to be demolished, all that history gone.

Biggest mistake ever ! Why brits allowed this crime against history and football ? The old Wembley got a soul ,the best played there Pele ,Yashin , England won the World Cup in 1966 , many memorable F.A cups finals and glory nights ! Wembley represents English Football it's an icon , it was more than a stadium ! The new Wembley is souless and feels empty with no history and memories ! R.I.P OLD WEMBLEY !

A thing of beauty destroyed to make way for a generic, sterile soulless crapfest of an arena. Our decedents shall rebuild it....the twin towers shall rise.
@oliverflanagan7623 Жыл бұрын
It looked good on the TV. Before the FA Cup and many other events they would paint the tops of the towers not the rest just the tops as they would be seen on the television. The truth is it was delapidated. Many of the people in the stands would urinate against the back wall as you can imagine not to pretty. They should have saved the towers though

I'm astounded this historic place was so readily demolished. The new one is a horrible, generic replacement and is already falling apart. Unbelievable.
@PeteWorld2010 Жыл бұрын
I haven't been inside the new one for a few years now but yes, very generic. They got away with demolishing the twin towers as there wouldn't otherwise have been room for the new stadium on that site. very sad.

I went to Wembley to watch the stadium being demolished I got emotionley upset looking at the staite of this classic staydeum and watching I'll the big crains going to werk and wreking a big big part of Wemberleys heretige when you think of Wembley you don't think of a big ark you think of fabulous twin towers thay should of maintaind the old staydeum and never of demolished it
@JohnPaul-oz9bx Жыл бұрын
They should have kept the towers. Ofcourse they could have moved them, engineers can do incredible things, it's just the people at the top wanted them gone. Rest in peace. They should protect cultural history.

The old Wembley had many faults. As a coach driver in London I went there many many times. However, as listed building (Which many people forget or never knew it was) it deserved a lot better than being chiselled to bits.

London Astoria Gone …Earls Court Gone….Hammersmith Palais Gone Wembley Stadium gone ….These places could have been saved revamped instead of being completely demolished …Home to the England 66 World Cup,Live Aid,Mandela’s 70th countless legendary rock groups and what does the new stadium represent …..Nothing !!!!

I wish they’d have kept it cause I am a massive fan of queen and they obviously played there but not in the new one that I’m aware of so I wish there was some left as a memory and a piece of history
