Just sent mine back! When I pulled out the crown to set the time, much to my surprise and annoyance the hands would NOT move! This on an almost $1000.00 SWISS MADE watch!

Bought this watch recently. This is my favorite watch. Keeps impeccable time and the finishes are so well done than any other watch I have owned. No selling of this watch.

Your comment about VK movement reliability is anecdotal - can you back it up, other than by personal experience? I have read many posts about these movements elsewhere, and none call it unreliable.

Is there not a high quality hand wound that does NOT have Big Chunky Arabic numerals on its dial? It seems that virtually ALL of these watches are for the visually impaired. What about a nice sleek manual wound watch (that's NOT 44mm wide) (more like 35 or 36mm) that has beautiful hash marks to indicate the hours and minutes on the dial? How can a dress watch look dressy if it has Big Bulky Arabic numerals on its dial? Oh how I hope that the pendulum will again swing in the direction of the '70s watches !

Regarding the Lang you make a comment about the use of "German Silver" as if that is valuable ...FYI "german Silver " is a misnomer: It just means nickel.

Something special about this one. Got a 116610ln from the year I got married. Will hope my kid, now 6, will wear it after I'm gone and remember this is the watch dad wore at work, in pools, during holidays, international beaches having fun, and can recall those days long gone.

After owning flyback 00524, Why when i entered the Rolex AD, try to get Sub with date but never strike any deal with them after wearing it to my wrist multiple times. At the same time straight went to the next Panerai boutique then easily purchased another Panerai submersible.

QUESTION - I have a watch case needing a matching strap. the finish on the watch case is black, you cannot see the brushing of the metal, its like a gloss black smooth pvc finish, its flawless and slightly warmer to the touch. what is it? the case is steel. was that the 15 micron finish mentioned in the video.? thanks

The picture you showed for the 1630 actually belongs to the datejust oysterquartz 17013. I mean the watch head is the correct 1630 reference but the bracelet belongs to the 17013.

Accounting for taste is a foolhardy endeavor. This is a well curated list, and I’d be happy to add any of these to my collection. I own a Big Crown ProPilot Big Date by Oris. From the first time I set eyes on it, I knew I had to track one down - it’s a well executed design.

I was wondering what you thought about the idea why watches aren’t getting cheaper as time goes by. The technology is centuries old. Nothing that knew going on. Different material, so? We all know something new, the new technology, can cost a lot. But as time goes by and the technology is no longer new things then come down it price. Apparently all this does equate to the watch industry. 😂

I love the look of it but i think its too small they should of made a 40mm ,i know they want to stay loyal to the war watch , people back used them as tools so it didn't matter the size .

Boulbus luxury instead of an affordable Tool Watch Mil-Spec type. Yeah, Na. These companies might want to start making watches people want, not what they think luxury watch collectors want. 😂 500 watches isn’t going to take you far. 😮

Technically the first watch in space was a Pobeda. Circumnavigated earth during Sputnik 4, made it back in tact. Gagarin and his Sturmanskie came later. First Swiss stopwatch in space was a Heuer, considered the best and most accurate chronograph at the time.

Are these flybacks? Please do a video on value for money watches with flyback movements, preferably manual winding ones. Also, if you can, separately do a detailed technical analysis of the Longines 13.33z movement - with the flyback complication…. Regards.

I have a VK63 Dan Henry watch. It's okay but unimpressive. I think it's some sort of uncanny valley maybe. For what most of these brands charge I'd rather get a Seagull chronograph from AliX.

Great history but there is something about a date location on any watch between the 4:00 - 6:00 that puts me off and not wating it. Either make a no date of put it at the 3:00.
