ongoing arguement , i tell people all the time but the hard headed controller is superior

You can use your Devices Hard Drives, but before you switch back to stand alone mode, you HAVE TO got to "Finder" (when using a MAC) and "Eject the Hard Drives", prior to switching back to Stand Alone Mode... And I ONLY use Stand Alone, trying to learn how to use Controller mode... I uses Controller mode just for Exporting my new Sound Packs to my MPC X'/Live's Hard Drives to access them in the Expansions section of the Browse feature... #Salute

That is not running both in controller mode, this is literally using the key 61 as a midi controller, this is why all of the buttons are producing sound when you touch them. The MPC software isn’t actually controlling anything in the key 61

He might as well put the miko sounds onto the mpc x hardrive and throw the miko in the trash

of course it is....... it has much more powerful in controller mode.

Have you gone into the midi menu and switch the midi ports to controller and one of them to global mode?
@producer7907 Жыл бұрын
Yes I went in and changed the midi ports but it like the midi map is off with the update. They just released a new update so I’ll try that one out.

Many thanks for posting. Is the computer nec? Is it poss to use just the X and the Key 61 connected together? The key 61 being the controller.
@producer7907 Жыл бұрын
Yes, in controller mode your computer is the mpc and the mpc’s are just controllers.

I have a touch. Does it make sense to get an X considering, I'll probably mainly use it in controller mode? I have 32 outs and 12 midi outs. I'd have less on the MPC, but a better screen/controller. But it's expensive for a controller

I’m now running the x and key61 in controller mode. So I see nothing wrong with it. I just posted a new video on this workflow

Hey man, thanks for the tutorial. This was really helpful. There's one problem I still have and hoping someone can help... When I am in controller mode, I cannot get the "clips" (sequencer mode) to play the same as they would in standalone mode.. Normally, in standalone, I would hit pads in a "clip" kit and they start playing the demo loops (like can play multiple pads at the same time and they flash yellow); but for some reason in controller mode in my DAW, when I hit pads in a clip kit nothing happens. I'm using logic pro x by the way; every regular drum kit works.. just not the sequence loops for some reason. If you could help me that would be amazing!

If I make a beat in standalone mode then decide I wanna use a vst, I understand I hv to go in controller mode to use that vst, but after I save the beat in my Mpc ssd, and later on decide to pull the beat up, do I hv to connect to controller mode again in order to hear the vst sounds in conjunction with the sounds I used in standalone? Or will everything just pullup in standalone.?
@producer79073 жыл бұрын
After your record a track using a plug-in you then can sample it with the looper in the MPC and save in in a program. All the tracks using plugins should be saved in a program. Then you will always have a wave of that track to play or export
@Jaiwavbeatz3 жыл бұрын

It's also not very good by today's standard. I had one and even when it first came out it was apparent that it was just hyped up. Poor quality unusable touch screen, basic semi weighted keyboard and basic DJ controller and basic presonus sound audio interface loaded with mostly free plugin sounds. It really did not start off the best and today you would be better of with a midi keyboard audio interface and a Mac book Pro or if you like hardware get the MPC X or live 2 and you have a tool that really is made for music production rather than a buggy computer set up disguised as a music making device. Most people used them to host plugins and sounds so as not to feel like they had bought into a totally pointless music device like I did.

This is dope 🔥 💣, I just got my MPC X hooked up to my my apollo Twin Duo but for some reason I don't get any audio output in standalone. Only in controller mode. What's the right way to connect it to my interface?
@producer79074 жыл бұрын
The mpc x has it’s on audio output for standalone. You’ll have to use it in controller mode to use the Apollo interface with a computer
@Inco_nnu2244 жыл бұрын
@@producer7907 yh I've figured out our, I've got my apollo interface plugged into my mpc x, then the mpc plugged directly the monitors. So that way, the mpc is the like the master hub but I can switch the mpc to direct in order to control the volume through the interface when using on logic Pro x.
