@Amd detailing I have seen a lot of stone / rock chip repairs... wow this is truly excellent ! My only question is using this technique, if we just use the touch up paint pens that the car manufacturers provide is that ok ? ie without clear coat or hardener? If not, then what would be the solution to permanent repair that is not going to degrade or be washed out eventually? Many thanks for the video.

Are you happy with mirka sander? I plan to also buy some good sander to my arsenal and Mirka looks good. New makita 40v sanders also come to market and thought, maybe good idea. What do you suggest?

Hi. Is this ewocar fine cut safe for rubber seals , maybe black plastics if you hit them (white marks..) ? I dont like tape that things if I use medium/fine polishes and I polish seals, glasses to clean and dont worry about little bit hit the matte platics with safe polishes for that. Have you tried "hybrid" one step with this ? I mean ewo finecut with mf/wool pad for more cut and continue few passes with medium foam for better finish.

Do you know how many microns of clear did you remove with these 2 steps? Im not sure with heavy compounds. You need some clear for some demage repairs in the future and polishing many years, many times for glossy paint with fine polishes. In my opinion heavy compounds are for old car that will be waxed garage queen. U do it only once and will not demage paint again. Or after repaint to remove orangepeel and some painting defects.

It's very difficult to remove microns when polishing, that's just a myth, I tested it with a coating meter and after polishing the same spot several times, nothing happened.
@zzo28
@zzo28 14 күн бұрын
@Amddetailing I tried remove one very deep scratch to max. I remove all clear on one mini spot. Not so dificult 😀. I think that factory clearcoat is about 50 microns on many cars. Have you measure coating before and after correction with ewocar heavy ,mirka wool and 21mm machine?

Do you dry sand starting with 800 with a fresh paint job or an already old one? I have a car I bought that has orange peel from a paint job from years ago. Should start with 800 or just go up to 2000 wet sand?

So the degreaser is only to check how the car will look after a car wash. So the moral of the story is dont use a wool pad

And one more thing how are you able to wipe away the compound so easily? I compound with many compounds and cannot wipe away the compound its like stuck there and only wet sanding gets it off
@Amddetailing
@Amddetailing 19 күн бұрын
The degreaser serves to remove the excess of the compound you are working with and gives you the right coating condition and the job as you did.

Why did you not use Mirka Stain File but sandpaper to paint leveling ?
@Amddetailing
@Amddetailing 19 күн бұрын
Because it wasn't dry enough and the Mirka file would just rip the paint out of the filled part, it can be used when it's dry.

Хорошая работа, но царапины остались и их будет видно все больше и больше, после каждой мойки, в идеале в такой работе нужно было покрывать лаком, замывать и полировать каждую деталь целиком, тогда будет менее заметно, но полностью скрыть не получится

Why didn't you used body filler? Wouldn't it have leveled up the depth and made it easy to paint??
@Amddetailing
@Amddetailing 19 күн бұрын
it wouldn't, because then you would get a thicker layer and when sanding you would remove all the coating and paint you applied to the damage
