Do TEC do a similar paddock stand bracket for the RE Super Meteor 650? Yes, the SM has a centre stand, but over winter I would like to have both wheels off the ground. The rear wheel is less than 1 inch off the ground on the stand and when I use a front paddock stand the rear wheel is lowered back onto the ground. Thanks in advance.

I wonder why nobody criticises the way too long bold on the footrest.... take the grinder and you loose another 50 grams of metal.

I got the XC in the 2022 year. The previous owner deCATed the bike, installed a slip-on, extra heat shielding, flyscreen, heated grips, hand guards, Pannier, ect. Got it with just 750 miles on it, so I have to do the first service, but it's like new for a lot less money. Even though I'm 6' 1" tall, I didn't want the XE model, it's just too high of a CG for such a heavy bike. I see guys dropping them over in sand all the time on youtube, and that's a heavy bike to pick up on soft ground. I'm not even flat footed on the XC. 8" is the most suspension travel I've ever had on a bike, so it feels great to me. I agree though on the looks, it's the kind of bike you just want to stand there and look at. I might get a tall windscreen from Unit Garage. I think they use the same 4 bolts that the flyscreen uses to attach, but with a stronger bracket, hopefully that's not a problem. I may do that tail tidy and an air filter. I'm curious how much power gain you might see with a slip-on, de-CAT, air filter, and a tune.

I just loooooove stories like this. You are awesome guys. I bought a 2019 street scrambler a couple of ago and just finding this out... man I couldn't be more excited right now.

2022 and newer bikes, I think the CAT would just come off with the ship-on since they don't have it up front anymore. I just bought a 2022 Scrambler 1200 XC today that already has slip-ons, and I don't see a CAT anywhere up front, it's just pipes under the front heat shield. The exhaust smells pretty raw too. Sounds great though.

This seems like a great product. our numberplates are longer, and require a red reflector, which with this setup would need to go below the plate. I am worried it will be too long. Do you have any experiences with this or photos from your german customers? Many thanks in advance!

Good piece of kit. The designer obviously liked Meccano as a kid and there’s even hints of Blue Peter (sticky backed pads)😅 It looks so much better than standard set up. Next mission. Design a proper centre stand….go on, you like a challenge. Of all recent ish released bikes, this ‘BSA’ should have been designed with a centre stand.

The street twins engine should last a very long time. Im happy to just let it chug along. Speed and power is not my priority these days. Having a bike with low maintenance, reliability and longevity is what I'm after more. So the street twin fits the bill.

That sweptback looks much better, however, that silencer defiantly needs to be swept up like the RE interceptor , lying low like that isn't a good look, made worse by the nice new pipe

Very informative, thanks. Stil have all my old bikes (45+yrs), somewhat surprised on several function they leave out like a centre stand; for me even a NoGo. Nice Lucas headlamp! Going into my last two decades, I'll stick to my modest speed Velo, here the comfortable lane speed is max. 55mph anyway. For 6K it is rather expensive, esp. seeing all your sensible changes. The tank has also a large welding rim which visually looks rough, not to mention all the plastic chromium parts. As you say, it should appeal to a rocker like me, but re-living ACE, wouldn't you just go for a real throttler? I think I am (too) old.... Brilliant upload, thanks!

Hey guys, any db measurements of the exhaust? At a certain RPM? I would like to order an exhaust but the sound clips recorded by a phone are not too helpful when trying to decide if it is too loud for daily riding in town.

Let's be honest, it's not a BSA Gold Star, it's a poorly jiggly made pile of junk typical of the third world retro counterfeits of a great British long dead marque, aimed solely at sad cheapskate old timers looking to get on the nostalgia wagon.....

You only have to see the plethora of YT "presenters" to understand the demographic. I'm currently watching paint dry for a new level of excitement !

Let's be honest, the BSA Gold Star 650 is not a BSA Gold Star, it is a crappy cheap third world imitation of a once great British marque, the only thing that is a BSA Gold Star is the name, not even the plastic tank badge reflects anything of the BSA heritage. Purely aimed at sad old wrinklies trying to jump on the nostalgia bandwagon. Cheap to buy yes, but try part exchanging for a new model, used values drop like a lead ballon in a bucket of water and most dealers of other makes just turn their backs........

Think being a Northern Old Fart is a prerequisite for ownership judging by presenters on YT

Get real it's not a real BSA Gold Star, it's a crappy jiggly built* sad imitation of a once great British built bike aimed at cheapskates and sad old timers looking for a bit of nostalgia on the cheap......*(Classic Legends Private Ltd., a subsidiary of the Indian Mahindra Group) The wrinklies would do better and saving their pension and buying a Triumph built in Britain which unlike the Indian Sub-Continent makers will not depreciate like a cannonball in a bucket of water.

Love the extra power on this bike, but these inconveniences, like no centrestand are dealbreakers for me. And it's about 1000 euros more than the classic 350. A pity, and right now the RE classic signals green which I've tested and loved has my name in it as my 60th bday gift 😊
@peter7624Ай бұрын
I didn't realise it had so many plastic parts on it and no centre stand is a no-no on a chain driven bike. Customer service sounds like my energy supplier, almost non-existent. Looks like it's going to be a Royal Enfield instead. Very thorough video, thanks.

Great video, very informative. Would this have the same results on the new Triumph Scrambler 1200X ?

It just plugs to lambda sensor... Same as booster plug...booster might be single setting by making air look like 5 degree cooler... I really think wideband sensor and autotune ecu is way to go...but those things are expensive... But getting bike tuned will be next best thing with piggy back ecu, or flash stock ecu...but These make shift parts are SOMEWHAT useful but REALLY useless....

Tec bike parts should remove this video because it is very misleading, You really need to take the tank off to get access to under the tank, to release Three bolts at the top that allow you to gain more space to take the cam cover off, Which also should be removed from the left hand side more easily 👍 I know it was 5 years ago, But this video is a pretty amateur attempt, pretty bad really 👎 There are much better Videos available now 👍 Cheers Paul
